Tip 6: Making it interesting!
Many people like to read stories that have drama, usually love triangles, bullies, family problems, or friend problems. So, adding drama in your story (And a bit into your teaser) makes a story all the more interesting! Here are a few questions to consider when building drama for your story.
+ Friendship
Does your character have friends?
Are they the best friends she could have?
Are they lying and manipulative?
Does one of her friends try to go after the person she's pursuing?
Do they ditch her all the time?+ Family
Are your characters parents never home like the average Wattpad parents?
Does your character only live with one of their parents?
Is their dad constantly away on business trips? Or the mom?
Are they divorcing?
Do they not like the person the character's pursuing?+ Relationships
Does your character have a person they're interested in?
Does your character have TWO people they're interested in?
Do those characters both like your character but hate each other?
WARNING: a lot of people dislike predictability in love triangles. Note that this is just a warning; if you've read literally any of my stories, you see that I do not heed warnings very well at all. It's good to have experience in the topic problem you've chosen, but sometimes- it's good to wing it. You can research your topic, too. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but the more realistic it is, the more entertaining and relatable it'll be.
