The sky was clear with the sun beaming down yet it was still freezing. But what could anyone expect from the south pole? The icy breeze whipped through the white hair of the young woman. Yet she stood firm at the front of the boat watching as they passed each iceberg.
Shivers ran up her spine as she wrapped her arms around herself tighter. Her blue eyes scanned the empty icy sea before sighing.
"Theres nothing here." The girl called never once moving from her spot.
"We're still looking!"
The dark haired boy tightened his fists angrily. Pain. Anger. Annoyance. All she had done was complain, just like his uncle.
"You should relax, Zuko. Sit. Both of you. Drink some tea, play a game." The calm voice of the elder man carried through the breeze.
"Zuko doesn't know how to relax." Mumbled the girl as she roller her eyes annoyed at the boy.
"What was that?!" Snapped Zuko angrily turning to face the girl but she still looked out to the sea.
"Look at me when I'm talking to you!"
The girl sighed before lazily turning around placing her arms folded Infront of herself. Her blue eyes met his bright yellow ones. She could see the anger burning in them. That's all he ever seemed now. Angry.
"Tea." Called the older man again as he glanced between the two teens.
Both teens sighed before joining the man on the floor. The man couldn't believe that these two were both once friends. Betrothed. Future fire lord and fire lady.
"Aika, how's your reading coming along?" Asked the old man gently as he took a sip of his tea.
"You're reading! We're banished and you're reading!" Zuko growls angrily as he slams his cup at the table.
"Here we go again." His uncle grumbled in dismay.
What he would do for just a civilised conversation.
"We've been banished for three years Zuko. And there's been no sign of the avatar. Just give up." Aika sighed, accepting her fate.
She had chose to stand alongside her best friend and look at where it got her. Banished, searching for an avatar that hasn't been seen in 100 years with the very best friend she tried to protect. Who now hated her. The irony was awful.
"Don't you care about honour!"
"I don't give a damn! What? you think your dad's just gonna welcome us back with open arms at the sight of some 100 year old grandpa!" Aika was the first to rise to her feet angrily causing Zuko to follow in suit.
"He said he would resort our honour!" Zuko fired back jabbing the girl in the shoulder.
"Yeah when we're dead!" Aika shouted back pushing the boy back causing him to stumble backwards.
He growled through gritted teeth before dropping into a fighting stance.
"We're just drinking tea children." Sighed Iroh as he began to push the table out of what would be yet another duel the two had since being banished.
Zuko threw a fireball at the girl who kicked down defending herself.
"What! You gonna hate me now like you hate everything! You gonna turn on me too! I tried to save you!" Aika screamed before firing a powerful fireball at the boy.
"I didn't ask you to!" Screamed zuko back as he kicked the fireball away.
It was clear to Iroh that both teen were holding back. They didn't really want to hurt each other. Just scare each other.
