"Marjorie's gone too far. What are we going to do about this, ladies?" Bang Chan asks.

"I want to mess her shit up."

      "You should. We should."

"If they want to play dirt, so should we. A good, old-fashioned TP-ing. Marjorie will never know what hit her!" Janet suggest

"Tempting, but toilet paper is too kind for her. You guys may want to distance yourself from me. I don't want to drag you down with me."

"This is our fight. I'm with you on this." Bang Chan reassures me.

"It can't be just us who is upset about what Marjorie is doing. I'm going to do some digging around town." Janet tells us.

The next day at the library, I look over Olivia's shoulder as she groans about her school project.

      "Ughhh..."

She's trying to write a story about her dad, but she's been hit with a classic case of writer's block.

"Don't worry, Olivia. I've read your writing. You're good. Let's start with the basics. You said it is about your dad, right?"

"I'm supposed to write about a lesson I learned from him. I always watched him fix the sink. He showed me how..."

A pang hits my heart as images of my own dad cross my mind. Suddenly, I am brought back to the present as Bang Chan knocks, here to pick up Olivia.

      "Kiddo, what's wrong?"

He scoops his daughter into his arms as she bursts into tears.

"She's supposed to write about something you taught her, but she forgot how to fix the sink."

"Olivia, that's no biggie. I'll teach you again."

"Really?" Olivia asks with a glowing smile.

"How about we all fix the library sink!" I suggest.

I lead them into a kitchenette for library staff. I hand Bang Chan the toolbox, and he and Olivia lay down under the sink.

"Does this feel familiar, Olivia?" he asks.

"It's kinda coming back to me..."

"I'll teach you as many times as you want, girlie."

Bang Chan proceeds to teach Olivia as I watch, my heart warming. When we finish, we head back to the reading room, where Olivia writes furiously.

"I'll have my story done in no time!"

As Olivia writes, Bang Chan pulls me into the stacks.

"You're great with kids. You know that?"

"She's a good kid. As cool as her dad... I just wish everyone in this town was as cool as you and Olivia."

"I have an idea. The annual Blues Fest is happening now. It's Marjorie's pride and joy. Let's go. We'll take Olivia. Let's support her thing, and she may be more likely to support ours."

      "Well...it's worth a shot."

"I was hoping you'd say that. I brought you a dress. I picked out the hottest one from your closet."

In the bathroom, I change into the dress he brought from my place.
