Chapter 2 Fear at first sight

Breathing heavily I wake up with sweat dripping down my face

Nightmares

The absolute worst

I sit up grabbing my chest trying to catch my breath

I don't always remember what my nightmares were about, but this one I could remember clearly

The cold metal holding my wrists down

The sound of my screams and the men laughing

The smell of blood rotting my senses

I grab my wrists still feeling the bands holding them

After what felt like forever I finally felt my breath come to a slow and controlled rhythm

Not feeling like going to sleep again, I go into the kitchen

I decide to go out on to the roof

I climb out up to the hole and pull myself out

It was a calm, clear night with not a single cloud in sight

Sighing, thankful for the fresh air, I climb to the edge of the building

My feet hang off the edge and I slightly kick them

The city was just gorgeous

Even though it was late there were lights shining everywhere around the buildings

It was calming to just watch the sleeping city

I feel a slight tingle on my right hip (Peter) and I pull down my pants a bit to see the mark

I frowned at this

The first time I ever saw my soulmate marks was pure  joy and bliss for the first 5 seconds

Then after that I realized they wouldn't want me so I stuffed down the feelings

I thought it would be super cool to have a lot of soulmates

People who love me

People who could save me

But hydra found out and I was punished horribly

I didn't understand at first why they were so angry about it (not that they would pass up an opportunity to hurt me) but I quickly found out that I was soulmated to the famous avengers

After that they never had me go on missions anywhere near them

They installed all these thoughts in my brain that if I ever met them they would hate me and immediately break the bond

Once I was free I thought for a moment that maybe they would want to meet me but hydras words would repeat in my brain

So anytime I would feel anything I'd hide

I have almost gotten caught a couple times

Once by Natasha

I was sterling something when I felt her mark and so I hid behind a corner and just as I did I saw her getting out of a car looking around and holding her left wrist

Twice by Tony

They were both while I was off killing someone, I normally have to dress up and go to parties to find these people and after almost getting caught by Tony two times I stopped going to those parties

I stand up looking around to see if I could spot my mate
