#18 - AU Percabeth

Fuck life. Originally I had no time to write anything just due to work and dancing and hockey and all that ship, now I have all that plus a really badly bruised patella tendon in my knee (which, if I need that knee for dancing thank you very much.), an injured toe (I think it's broken) and I had a sinus infection. Gee fucking thanks life. I hate you too. But... I have a day off to write. And then I have to wait three weeks until I am having at least 2 weeks off of dancing to rest my knee.

It's a mer AU btw, I just read an adorable Homestuck JohnDave Merstuck AU and (although JohnDave tbh is more of a Moirail pairing to me) I was inspired by that and I wrote *THIS* piece of shit.

No mortals, no other demigods, just pure Percabeth fluff.

HOLY CRAP I'VE HAD THIS BOOK FOR A YEAR! ITS MY BIRTHDAY TODAY (WOOOO 15!)

IT IS A SECOND PERSON ANNABETH P.O.V THIS TIME. I HAVE GOTTEN PRETTY GOOD WITH SECOND PERSON SINCE HOMESTUCK.

Your name is Annabeth Chase and you think you may be utterly screwed. You've always had a strange life, your mother had a one-night-stand with your father (while he was already married) and then once she had a child (you) she left you with your father and disappeared, only to come into your life again, beg for forgiveness and then leave you again, but this was pure weird. You had just met a merboy. You'd noticed him a few times, but always just presumed he was a fish... An oversized fish, that is, but then you nearly drowned (you can swim, but it was cold, the waves were huge and you panicked) and he saved you. In your fading consciousness, you saw him, messy black hair, sparkling eyes that were a sea-green, tanned skin with scars littered here and there and then you saw the tail. Oh gods the tail was so beautiful, it was also sea-green like his eyes but in certain light, some areas looked either silver or a pearly white. You heard his voice "Oh gods please don't die. It'll be okay. I'm going to save you. You won't drown." Although it sounded that he was trying to encourage himself. When you became conscious again, he was gone and your father was above you, looking down in worry. He scolded you for being reckless, as if you falling out of that damn boat was your fault and not your stepmother's. She had kicked your foot out from under you. Of course, your father didn't believe you, to him, your stepmother was an 'angel' and would never lie to him.

A few days later, you went down to the beach, hoping to see the boy, hoping to thank him for saving your life. You wore a bathing suit underneath your clothes and stood by a rock, looking at the ocean, hoping to see the boy. You took off your shoes and waded into the water. Knee deep. Mid thigh deep. Waist deep. That's the furthest you got. "Hey!" You heard the voice of the boy from your left side. You turned your head slightly and saw him behind the large rock. It was at least twice his height and five times his width. Basically, it was huge. You waded over to him and for a while you just stared. He broke the silence "Uh.. Hey. I'm sorry. This is the first time I've spoken to anyone from land. I'm sorry if you want to kill me because of my kind-" you cut off his awkward ranting. "Hey, it's okay. I'm Annabeth. Annabeth Chase." You offered a hand out to him "I'm Percy... Percy Jackson." He took your hand and shook it "I never thought I'd talk to a human before just then." You smiled at him "You and me both Seaweed Brain." You teased and he huffed "You probably didn't even know I existed until just then, Wise Girl." He taunted, mocking your nickname for him. You smile and he smiles back, you feel that a great friendship will happen between you and Percy.

You visited him every day, you got closer and now you were best friends. You soon remember that this is only a holiday, you'll go home soon, although, four days feels really soon when each day passes like nothing. You remembered that you had to tell Percy that you were leaving so you went down to the beach and you saw that he was there, waiting for you "Seaweed Brain!" You waved at him and took your shoes off. You waded into the water and when you were a few metres away from him, you launched at him and hugged him tightly. "Hey Wise Girl." He murmured into your neck and you shuddered slightly at the electricity that came from his lips on your neck. "Percy..." You began and he looked at you in worry, you never call him by his real name unless you're really mad, sad or worried. "What's wrong Wise Girl?" You looked down and he pulled you further behind the rock "I'm leaving in four days. I've been here for a holiday. Percy, I might not see you again!" You told him, panicking. You were close to tears and your arms were shaking. Percy held your shaking hands in his own and that's when he kissed you. You could tell he was inexperienced, but that's okay, you're inexperienced as well.

When his lips left yours he spoke "Annabeth, I'll find you wherever you are. I know the oceans. Where do you live?" Your voice was still shaky when you replied to him "San Fransisco. Why... Why did you kiss me?" He looked like he wanted to kiss you again "Since I first saw you... I felt a connection... That's a sign of love in our kind. And I just.... Ugh. I suck with relationships. Look, Annabeth, Wise Girl, I love you." You looked at Percy in shock and all of the puzzle pieces in your mind clicked together, the electricity, the constant thinking of him, the butterflies you get when you think about him and how you blush when you see him. "I love you too Seaweed Brain." He smiled in relief before suggesting something to you "There's a thing we do in our culture, we create a bond with our lovers and we can feel the other's emotions and pain. Do you want to try it?" You looked at him, awed that he would suggest to do something as dedicated as that "Of course Percy, there's nothing wrong with trying. How do you do it?" You asked, worried that it might be something that would pain you. "It's okay Annabeth, it won't hurt you, I promise." He held your hands tighter and closed his eyes. It took a few minutes before you felt something click in your mind and as if there was a floodgate in your mind, emotions began flowing through your mind, excitement, worry and mostly love. You felt as if there was a second heart beating alongside yours, not particularly in time, but his heartbeat was slightly faster. Once he opened his eyes again, you were staring at him in awe of the situation "Seaweed Brain..." He smiled at you in a way that made your heart flutter and made you feel faint. He smirked a tiny bit, looking smug about making you blush "I'm going to be with you forever. As long as we're together, Wise Girl." He promised sincerely and you looked straight into his sea-green eyes as you responded "As long as we're together." You confirmed and you felt that even though the holiday was nearly over, you would still see Percy until the end of your life.

And you did.

Nawwwww just a little bit of fluff at the end. I know, I know 'That was really short!' But I wanted to post this on my birthday (even though it's like 11pm) and this is all I could fit in.

I had thought I had escaped embarrassment from singing at school, but then I got to dancing... 😰😰 They practically screamed it and I just covered my face the entire time.
