CHAPTER TWO

The leaves crush loudly under Charlotte's feet as she races through the forest, the girl can hear her mother shout her name, but she doesn't turn around.

She is a little girl again, she looks down at her hands as she slows down to a walking pace, coming up on her destination, her little playhouse that sits dozens of yards from her backyard, her hiding place

It was the first time of many that her mother had lashed out at her in the heat of the moment, causing the little girl to grow a few battle scars in the process. Charlotte had begun to have vivid dreams she swore were beggining to come true, but her mother thought she was crazy

The girl lays down in the middle of her hut and takes a deep breath, finally feeling like she'd escaped, when suddenly an unrecognizable voice began to whisper her name, louder, and louder until it was right in front of her "Charlotte, Charlotte, Charlotte!"

Charlotte sprung awake in her bed at a startle, sweat dripping from her cold forehead. she'd been having the same dream for weeks now, sometimes continuing to an unpretty sight

The girl sat up all the way and threw her legs over the side of the bed, peering at the clock on her nightstand that read 4:02, Charlotte let out a deep sigh and stood up to throw on a hoodie and leggings, she knew there was no going back to sleep, so she had to go for a run instead.

As she laced up her shoes she thought about what had happened the night before for a brief moment, wondering if she'd ever see them again

The run lasted about an hour as Charlotte thought about how much her life was going to change in her new home, coming up with ridiculous possibilities for what was to come

It was now 6:45 when the girl returned to her new home, taking it in as she walked to the front door

It was a smaller house, a creamy beige color with white shudders on the windows, the door was a radiant blue that matched the house numbers painted along the porches supports.

If charlotte were being honest, she actually loved this new house, it was a bit smaller than her last but still two stories, and cozy, and it looked like a home.

She walked up the stairs and fished a towel out of her suitcase before stepping into the shower, letting the warm water wash away all the nerves she had for this new school, her first day and hopefully a place she'd be staying for awhile.

Charlotte rolled her old 72' C/K into a parking spot in front of the main office, nerves running wild as she sat in her car, avoiding the inevitable.

She had gotten the car for her 16th birthday when she got her license and had loved that thing since. Her and her dad slowly fixed it up until it finally ran perfectly right before she moved to Beacon Hills, forcing her parents to let her take it with her. She had named the charming truck Phoebe and refused to part with it.

Charlotte took a deep breath and got out, walking up to the front office to meet the principal and get her schedule. She had arrived a bit early so she wouldn't walk into a class halfway through, not knowing the front office would talk her ear off.

After what seemed like forever, Charlotte was finally rushing down the hallway in search of her class, her schedule in hand as she looked around aimlessly.
