"Science? Always," Sheldon had a soft smile lingering across his vanilla coloured face. "Thank you so much Shelds," Ivy had a sigh of relief but didn't hear the nickname she had just let loose. "Shelds?" Sheldon stuttered slightly, his face has now turned a soft pick shade and his palms began to go clammy. "Oh sorry, just a nickname I won't call you that." Ivy spoke nonchalantly, unfazed. Just a mistake right? "No it's um okay I actually need to go to sleep it's passed my bedtime," Sheldon rushed out and hung up at the same time as his last word.
Ivy was left dumbfounded, starstruck. What just happened? And now she is stuck with her biology paper that has a checkpoint in a week. She is so fucked.
Mary Cooper was also starstruck. She was sitting in her room listening to the conversation, she wanted to see if Ivy was being nice to Sheldon. As she wants Sheldon to have a friend who's intellectually level with him and who isn't Paige because she ran away with Missy.
"George!" She ran from her room outside to see George drinking a beer. "Yes dear," George said in a mocking tone. "I think something's wrong with Shelly. I was eavesdropping-" she began "eavesdropping?" George cuts her off.
"Yes George we pay for the phone bill we can listen into the kids conversation." Mary scoffed. "Anyways, Ivy wanted some help with her biology paper I don't know what part doesn't matter. And she called Shelly a nickname. Next thing I know is Sheldon is stuttering and ga no g's up the phone abruptly," Mary rushes out ending her sentence with a smile
"So?" George responds. "So? He could have a crush on her! And we already like her so it's great!" Mary exclaims. "No way, this is Sheldon, Sheldon has no feelings towards people already let alone romantic feelings." George rolls his eyes at Mary's theory. He takes a swing of his beer and looks to see Georgie listening in on their conversation.
"Georgie go away adults are talkin' " George ushers him back to the garage. "No you'll wanna hear this, last night when Meemaw's truck broke down I drove Sheldon and Ivy back here. On the way back he was definitely too interested in Ivy's science. Because she does a different science right? And he only really likes physics and chemistry. They were talking about biology, mhm." Georgie nods his head trying to make his discovery sound appealing to the two nosy parents.
Mary's hands go up "Praise the lord our son will not be alone forever," Mary smiles and does a little twirl in her excitement. George does a nod in affirmation slightly agreeing with Georgie's theory. "It's possible," he mumbled out. "It's definite, okay but we cannot scare him or tell Missy," Georgie tells the two adults. They both nod their head. Their secret was hopefully safe. For now.
Cortisol is about to peak. Unless they can't keep the secret.

Cortisol is a hormone released when stressed so it's released during secret keeping just a cute definition for anyone unaware. I'll do these when it's a bit uncertain what things mean during my chapters x
