The drive home from the movies was quiet with both boys snoozing in the back seat and Stacy and Paul holding hands listening to the Guns N Roses song playing softly on the radio. They had both been advising the topic of the confrontation at the house that happened earlier in the day , kind of like the elephant in the room .
"We should really talk about Chris and-"
A finger was put up to her lips and she was shushed almost immediately .
"Hush woman , I just want to enjoy the peace , quiet and your company for just a moment without your ex ruining it , or the kids , who I am very fond of interrupting , the dog need a potty break , the phone ringing , you get the point? Paul said smiling at her
"I do , I get it , being with me isn't easy , there are a lot of complications and baggage involved with it , I have my own issues as well but there is also something we have never really talked about too"
"What's that , doll ?" Paul looked at her with a slow sexy smile using the pet name for her he knew she loved .
""Your a gigolo , and what happens when the "job" is over ?"
Paul withdrew his arm from around Stacy and he looked at her with anger clearly in his eyes and his mouth turned into a tight thin line on his face and he shook his head in disbelief.
"What's a gigolo?" thought Stacy's son Timmy as he blinked open his eyes from the back seat .
"Give me another beer!" Chris slapped the bar hard .
"Don't you think you've had enough Chris?" Ryan his friend and owner of The Saloon asked kindly
"No, who the fuck does that guy think he is , its MY house , and that's still MY wife! Those are MY GODDAM KIDS!!"
"Chris you need to relax man , you and Stacy broke up man , you cheated on her and then left her when she found out . You made your bed and now as uncomfortable as it is you have to lay in it "
"Who's side are you on? Jeez if I didn't know better I'd say your in league with them?! When are you having them over for dinner and drinks ?!"
"Now your just being an asshole. you know you don't have enough friends to be a jerk to the remaining few you have. Im gonna let that one slide ." As Ryan held up one finger in Chris's face
"One , don't push it !" He slammed the frosty mug of beer down on the wooden bar making Chris jump at the intensity of the action.
"Man , I'm sorry Ryan Im just all torn up about this guy , I think I'm gonna do a background check on him to make sure he's a good dude you know ? I mean he is around my kids now and I don't want Stacy getting hurt and all" Chris said apologetically
"Man , if you didn't have kids if say leave it alone but yeah you do have kids together and this is not like someone we went to school with so I can see your point in wanting to check him out. It's ok , Stacy was the catch in school so yeah you fucked up but it doesn't make losing her any less painful. I don't know what I'd do if I lost Denise and the kids, I do lover her so." Ryan said as his eyes fell softly on the woman he just referenced .
Across the room a Auburn hair green eyed woman threw her head back and laughed deep and hard. She was pretty in a bikery kind of way . tight blue jeans clung to her curves and a tight black cleavage bearing top clung to her body. She looked up feeling the eyes staring at her and blew Ryan a kiss from across the room with a wink with a on her ruby red lips .
"Yea , me and Denise had a rough patch a year or so ago but we worked through it and look how happy we are today. You should a tried a little harder to work through it Chris , no offense it's easy to cheat harder to do the work dude."
"No your right." Chris said as he knew in the back of his mind there were rumors of his "beloved" having cheated on him with some out of downer during their rough patch but he would never hurt his friend like that with that bit of information.
