The now caravan had followed the river up stream for three days. They had started to get into a routine after the first day.
Morning clean up of their camp sites, ensuring that nothing got left behind. From fish scraps, to any significant plants or fruits they found along the way.
They would then follow the stream, anything of interest would be checked. More people either piled into two of the carriages or walked as the third carriage pulled by Tank slowly filled with things they gathered.
They were now just stopping when Flik landed on Leumas' shoulder. He had come to know that his beasts could understand him to some degree. They could even answer questions with a nod or shake of their heads or making noises. "Are we being followed then?" He asked and Flik nodded its head.
Leumas frowned. The previous night Billy had said he thought he saw something in the treeline but it was gone just as quick as he saw it.
Dean frowned when he saw that they were indeed being followed. "Well if they've been following us this whole time there has to be a reason, right?" He said looking at Ash and James who were thinking.
"Maybe," Ash said. "But why not come and meet us....unlesss, and hear me out. What if our race wasn't the only ones chosen to come here."
Some eyes widened at this comment. And Leumas was one of them. This thought hadn't even occurred to him. "So not human you mean?"
"Yeah, why not. If we came from another world who says others couldn't have as well." She said looking in the direction they had come from. "Would you guys be okay if I left something behind for them. Maybe it might encourage them to at least come say hi to us."
Everybody was listening and some people thought it was a good idea while others didn't. In the end Leumas had decided to put it to a vote.
Majority of them wanted to leave an offering of peace behind in the end. And that was what they did.
Leumas had Squishy catch two more fish. Several swordsmen had them butchered the fish and then a couple of the Chefs cooked it on a couple of steel plates that had fallen off of Tank.
Leumas and a couple of the mages decided to practice their earth magic. They had raised a small platform, about hips height, out of the ground. They then proceeded to place the things they were offering.
Turning in the direction they came Leumas walked with Shade by his side and Squishy on his shoulder. "Hello our there."
No response just the rustling of leaves in the breeze.
"We know you've been following us. We mean no harm, we hope this food is to your liking." He bowed slightly in the direction of the woods then proceeded to leave.
Whispering to Shade he asked. "Are they there?" The wolf slightly nodded.
Dean and James walked up next to Leumas and took either of his hands as the group then went to the carriages. "I think we're doing the right thing." Dean said with a smile on his face. "We will have more then enough food when we get there."
James looked at him. "You seem to be pretty sure about that. I never did ask. What job class did you pick?" He asked.
A smile came onto Dean's face as he stayed silent. "I chose to become a Farmer." Was all he said, as he didn't add anything else.
James shook his head with a chuckle. "Yeah, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised about that." He chuckled some more and lightly placed a kiss on his cheek.
The group had then decided to get going. Ally was atop her Titan Turtle Miko. It seemed to gradually get bigger the first two days, but that had stopped and now five people were on the shell as Miko moved.
Dean, Leumas and James were at the front of the group. Shade was pulling the first carriage that held the youngest members of their party. Tank pulled the second with supplies and Grant rode Cinder as it pulled the last carriage. On that one were people who had bows and magic staffs watching in all directions.
On either side several of the caravan those with melee weapons were walking, weapons sheathed. The birds in the sky were silent and were only to screech if something was approaching. That was how they traveled.
"Hey Leumas." Ash came running up next to the three men. "So I was curious. you had said you had a Town Token. Would I be able to ask you what grade the Town Token was?"
"I could tell you... But if I'm being honest with you cuz. I have no idea." He said shaking his head.
Dean and James gave a slight shocked look. They had wanted to ask but figured if Leumas wanted to talk about it he would but this was just as good.
Ash nodded her head lowering her voice she then whispered. "So it had a glowing box then. Am I right?"
He faltered in his step for a moment then continued as if nothin happened. "Did you get something similar then?" he said not turning his head to look at her.
"Yeah. My thoughts are that it's a special item. I won't ask anything else then."
Three more days had gone by. Leumas had contracted a Giant Tree Centipede, it was easily the same height as Shade and ten times longer extending almost the full length of the caravan. As Ally didn't want it and Grant said that they had let him catch the first monster, he wanted their Leader to catch it.
Ally's eagle, Saline had caught a Wildflower Butterfly. It was the size of a small canine not to mention the wings that looked like giant flower petals. And that was how two more monsters were added into the party.
The first day the food was left behind.
Several figures stood at a small raised platform of stone. On it was fish, fruit and a few steel scales. "They actually left us food." A man's voice said surprised by what he was looking at.
"Oh meow, that fish smells ameowzing." Said a woman with grey cat ears and tail, as she sniffed at it.
"Don't Mia. We don't know if they did anything to it." Said an older male
But Mia had already picked up a portion and was chewing it. "Mmmmmmeow... It's good. Like, reallllly good." She stated, picking up a piece and handing it to the man with matching ears to hers. "Try it brother."
He looked over the girl as she happily ate the piece she was gnawing at. "You're sure?"
"Myeah, I'm sure its good. Nothing wrong. Meow." She then took to handing pieces out to others. Men, women, and children all with different features. Some had feathers and wings, other scales and most with fur. All with animal features of some type.
The man ate the piece he had. "Meow, that is good." He chewed for a moment "It's settled then, we will keep following them for a few more days." He then finished the piece of fish he had.
