Ch.16 Bloodline

Leumas woke up with his head pressed against Dread's chest. Dean on the other side, with Pelle big spooning James. Light snores filled the room.

Getting out of bed quietly Leumas stepped out of the room. He went downstairs wearing only a pair of shorts. "Snippy?"

From the shadows in the corner of the room, Snippy stepped out. "Yes, Master?"

"Can you get me some clothes please." This caused Snippy's mask to smile slightly bigger.

"Of course." Snippy reached a hand out into the darkness and pulled out his Masters clothing.

After getting dressed Leumas stretched lightly and went to the door he turned back to Snippy who was waiting. "Watch over them until they wake up." Leumas left with a smile on his face. Snippy nodded his head and was gone from the room in moments.

Leumas went over to the entrance of the Dungeon Monolith. The guard watching the entrance was Mia. The Beastkin smiled as she watched Leumas approach. "My Lord."

Stopping in front of Mia. "Anything?" He asked.

Mia shook her head. "Nobody has come out and as decreed nobody has entered either. I'm curious why, I know you said it was a secret. But there's so much material to be gathered from the dungeon." She said looking at the entrance longingly.

It was then that footsteps could be heard. Leumas waited with baited breathe. The footsteps were coming from inside the Monolith. Leumas knelt down on one knee. "Bless the Tamer God. I hope it was what you were hoping for."

The woman stepped outside. Mia stared wide-eyed. Quickly she knelt after the words registered.

"You may rise, First Believer." Tamer God said as she stepped out into the rays of the rising sun in the sky. "My search bore no fruit. But I greatly appreciate you letting me see. As a gift I have brought some things for your Monster City, some of these materials are from the upper floors so use them wisely."

A wooden chest was placed in front of him. "I thank you, Tamer God." Leumas bowed his head.

"It's nothing. Inside this item box before you, are the materials I gathered. Don't worry I didn't complete the Dungeon Monolith, just some light searching, couldn't be taking from my Believers after all. This is my appreciation for you allowing me to be the first being to enter this Dungeon." The Tamer God smiled as her black tail swayed. "Your friend here is quite pretty."

Leumas then raised his head and looked at Mia. She was sill looking down. "This is Mia."

"Mia." The Tamer God stepped up to her and with a finger underneath her chin lifted her gaze up to her own. "You are gifted." She smiled. "I Grant you a blessing. Thank you for following my First Believer." She then placed a finger onto the woman's forehead. "Bloodline Awaken."

Mia's eyes widened before she collapsed. Leumas quickly caught her. "Mia, are you alright?!" Leumas asked panicked.

"She will be fine. I just unlocked a bloodline that was dormant inside her." The woman smiled tilting her head slightly. "You Humans don't exactly have that. For her the Feline bloodline runs deep. I just woke up the strongest one in her."

"I see. Is there a way to gain a bloodline?" Leumas asked as he held onto Mia.

"Perceptive. There is, I could give you a Bloodline Trait, if you wanted." She speculated. She smiled. "No that's exactly what I'll do for my First Believer."

Leumas chuckled at her antics. "You know, I have Male partners right. We don't exactly procreate together." Leumas said matter of factly.

Waving her hands dismissively. "That's not a problem in this world. We have ways for two men to have children of their own. Mortals aren't the only ones who take on same sex lovers, I'll have you know. I myself am the end result of such a relationship."

Leumas looked wide eyed. "Umm. You mean, I have a womb?!" Leumas reached down to his abdomen moving his hands across it.

The Tamer God laughed out loud. After she calmed down she waved her hands back and forth. "No. No. No. It was made by the Primordials. I won't go into details but there is an item for it. Now about that Bloodline Trait."

Nodded his head. "I accept, of course." Leumas said.

The Tamer God then looked around. Her eyes glowed slightly. "Let's see. Hmmmm. Well it seems the other Gods have been busy. Quite a few traits are gone already. Hmmmm." She said as he finger swiped through the air.

It was then Leumas knew she was using a form of Stat Magic. He kept silent as he held onto Mia and gently knelt her down and rested her in the grass to the side of the path.

The Tamer God gazed at Leumas for a moment. "Well I suppose that
would be suitable." She then shook her head. "No." She swiped some more. "Oh this is perfect." She then walked up to Leumas and pressed a finger onto his forehead in a similar matter as Mia. Leumas closed his eyes.

Leumas features lightened. His hair grew white. Then they darkened, his skin shifted color. Bright reds to cool blues. Then he felt the pressure on his forehead lighten, opening his eyes. Nobody was there. The Tamer God had left just like that.

Leumas called out. "Stat screen open."

Candidate - Human - Leumas, Nineteen years old.

Sub Job Class (max ten) - Monster Breeder, Merchant, Mage, Hunter, Butcher.
Level - Seventeen.
Bloodline - Chameleon Trait.
Skills - Tame Beast, Basic elemental Magic, Basic Combat, Monster Summon, Monster Identify, Egg Appraisal, Track, Precision Cut, Monster Breeding, Throwing.

"Open Bloodline."

Chameleon Trait. The color of your features know no bounds. Blend into your surroundings or stick out. (Limited to skin, hair, eyes of self only)

"So it's feature changing, camouflage. This is not what I was expecting but I don't exactly hate it." Leumas said with a smile. "Thank you Tamer God." He closed his eyes and said out loud. "Stat screen close."

Leumas looked over at the sleeping Mia. "Well then, I guess it's time we start letting people go into the Dungeon Monolith. But I think I'll put a toll on entry. Depending on what people bring out they'll make more than what it costs to enter." He got up and went over to Mia. "She might be our for awhile. This isn't going to look good. "The guys should be safe, even without him. Snippy come here. Take Mia home please."

Snippy rose out from Leumas' shadow. "As you ask. Master." Snippy bowed and took her into his arm. Vanishing into the ground they were gone like that.

"Shred." Leumas called out. The Giant Tree Centipede appearing from a Magic Circle. "Keep guard of the door until I come back."
