I jumped and sliced two men's throats; blood spattered all over the walls. I aimed my grappling hook at a sniper perched and aiming at Gerald.
I shot the sniper in the head, watching the blood spray all over the floor. Then quickly grabbed my knife and cut the rope of the sniper's rifle. I took the rifle and aimed it at the remaining guards. They didn't move. I sighed and shot the remaining guards. That was no fun. I jumped back down to Myron, who was nocking out the guards with ease. "Any sign of the targets?"
"Most likely on the fifth floor." He shouted. I nodded and headed up the stairs. As I reached the fifth floor, I saw Ellie and Amelia talking to each other. They seemed to be arguing about something.
I hide behind a pillar. They had six guards around them. I hugged my gun and knife close to my chest.
"You know I can't do that, Ellie." Amelia shook her head.
"But it's the only way to make sure they succeed." Ellie insisted.
"Then you have to find another way. You can't sacrifice me like that." Amelia's voice trembled.
I debated whether or not to go for the headshot or the leg shot. I decided on the headshot. I aimed my gun at Amelia and pulled the trigger. Her head snapped back, and she collapsed to the ground.
Ellie screamed in horror and called the guards to kill me. One of the men dropped a smoke bomb, and two shots were fired. I felt a pain in my shoulder, then another in my leg.
I fell to the ground, blood pooling around me. I heard footsteps coming closer, but I couldn't move. I tried to reach for my knife, but my arm wouldn't obey me. The smoke cleared, and I saw Ellie, her eyes wide with fear and anger.
I heard running getting closer, then six to ten bullets rained through the air. Chuuya killed the guards. I stumbled up and wrapped one of the men's jackets around my leg. The bleeding slowed, but the red liquid didn't stop.
"You alright?" Chuuya asked me.
I nodded, wincing from the pain. "Yeah, I'm fine." I stood up and reloaded my gun. "Get Gerald in here, then you get out."
He nodded and ran down the stairs.
I turned back to Ellie. She was still in shock, her eyes glassy with unshed tears. I put the gun on her head. "Darling, you never should have gone to the Mafia." I pulled the trigger. Her hand blasted the backward, and she crumpled to the floor. She was dead. "Eliz, come on, let's get to the roof." I heard a voice from behind me. I turned and saw Gerald stealing one of the guard's weapons. "We have to get to the roof."
"Why?"
"The last five guards are up there. We can get away after."
We ran to the roof and found the last five guards there. They were arguing about something. My shoulder stained my black outfit a dark red. The two wounds burned, but I ignored the pain. Gerald was breathing heavily, but he seemed to be in better shape than me. The guards noticed us and aimed their guns at us.
"Gerald, you stay here and take care of them. I'm going to make a distraction." I nodded and ran toward the edge of the roof. I pulled out my knife and threw it at one of the guards. He fell, clutching his chest. Gerald shot another one, and I grabbed my knife and ran back to him.
"You okay?" He asked as he shot another guard.
I nodded, wincing from the pain. "Yeah, let's just finish this." One of the guards fired a ray of bullets at us, but Gerald dove, and I rolled out of the way. I shot back, hitting the guard in the leg. He screamed in pain and tried to crawl away. I aimed my gun at his head and pulled the trigger, and the man fell to the floor. One last bullet hit my hand, making it useless. I dropped my gun and knife. Blood trickled down my hand. I felt my head getting light.
"You okay?" Gerald asked again.
"No," I said, "I'm not. Just get out of here. Tell them..." I trailed off, my vision starting to blur. "Tell them... I'm sorry."
"Eliz, no, no. Look at me."
I smiled at him as the sound of a helicopter approached. "Darling, I guess there is only one more mission."
He shook his head, tears streaming down his face. "No, no, no. Don't do this. You don't have to."
But it was too late. I was already fading. "Gerald," I managed to whisper. "Run; you know the law of silence. I can handle this." I smiled at him. "I showed up. Just jump from building to buidling."
"I can bring you with me."
"I've been alive for 173 years. I can die now. I love you." I pushed him up.
He hesitated for a moment, then leaned down and kissed me. "I love you too, Eliz."
"Eli, Eli, lama Sabachthani." I whispered, with that he jumped off the roof, landing on the next building with a roll, then continued to run. The helicopter was almost upon us. I felt a rush of wind as it hovered overhead. Then I closed my eyes and waited for the end.
The rope came down, and I climbed aboard the helicopter. They pointed the guns at me. I smiled, and with my remaining strength, I jumped off the roof. Time seemed to slow as I fell. The air is blowing through my hair. The men yelled and ran over the edge to see if I was getting away. I hit the ground with a crack. Darkness consumed me. But this time it wasn't like being unconsenting. It was like being tossed down into hell.
My senses were on overload. The pain was excruciating. I felt like my body was being ripped apart. I could see nothing but a bright light. It was like I was burning alive. My lungs were on fire, and I couldn't breathe. I tried to scream, but nothing came out. I tried to move, but my body wouldn't obey. I was trapped in this hell, this never-ending torment.
Time passed, or so it seemed. I didn't know how long I had been in this state. Then, slowly, the pain started to fade. The light began to dim. I could feel my body healing. My lungs started to work again, and I was able to breathe. I opened my eyes. I was standing in a lava-filled world. "Hell!" I laughed. "Well, I guess I really did die. It only took 173 years." A man apread in front of me. He had white skin and long black hair that reached his ankles with gold rings and ornaments tied in his black locks. He had red eyes bright and shining with yellow rings around them, the man wore a red suit with a signal red necklace around his neck. "Welcome to hell!"
"Who are you?" I hissed
" Masaru Jurou, the king of hell, it's a pleasure."
"Why are you talking to me." I glared at the man.
"Did he really not tell you? Or did he just not realize. You see darling, Eliz, your little friend, Gerald Heri, he sold your soul. Well, he chose the dark side." He laughed and lifted my chin up with his hand. "You see, I created the Crimson Nightmares, so I can destroy them just as easily. You are my slave." he snapped his fingers and a red chain aperd around my neck. He pulled me closer to him, his breath on my neck.
"What? Gerald, he sold my soul?"
"Well, he sold it partly, he made a deal where if you killed yourself, then I got you. It comes with the package of the dark side.
"I'm your slave now?" My mind raced trying to put the pieces together.
"Yes darling, you are mine. For the rest of eternity."
