The finals had ended, but my promise to ask Jeonghan out had remained unfulfilled. I don't know if it was the stress of my last days at high school, the pressure of trying to avoid everyone, or the general decline in my energy.
Or maybe it was the teasing.
I would usually find it easy to brush off people's words, but they had strangely begun to come in like high tide. If each snarky comment was a coin in a piggybank, I was beginning to wonder how much longer the piggybank would last.
Leaving the venue for our final exam, I rubbed my eyes while leaning against the wall outside. As upset as I was about other aspects of my life, a huge weight floated off of my shoulders the second the invigilator took in the last paper I'd ever write at school.
I reopened my eyes with a sigh and took off towards the school gates for the last time, taking out my phone.
