Intro

I am Alexa but please just call me Alex, my mother prefers to call me by the name that is currently written on my birth certificate. I’m not such a huge fan of long names, I believe it is only a waste of time. Like what I’m doing now is a total waste of time, I’m ramblings again. I hate it when I do that.

I am a normal teenage girl with thin brown reddish hair that flows to the middle of my back. Huge chocolate brown eyes that some say can see straight into ones soul.

I’m normal, I just see things different than other people. I like the same things every 16 year old girl likes; cool chick flick movies, hot celebrities, Jonas brother’s songs, Zack Effron and so much more. But still I’m out of the loop from the normal kids, why I don’t know but hay, if that means I can be special on my own way, why the hell not.

There I go rambling again. Don’t remind me, I take time warming up to people. I Am Alexandra Betricks Ceder, and this is my story.

Chapter One

“Mom, where’s dad?” I asked as I walked into the kitchen. It’s already past six and dads still not home.

“He’s at work, Honey. Working late, the system upgrade is setting everyone aback. He’ll be home by midnight.” Mum said setting the table and checking the food. Mum has always been good at multi-tasking. It was what made her super mom, well that’s how I saw it.

“Are we going to leave him something or are they going to feed my dad at least?”

‘Think they will, but we can leave something anyway. Go tell your brother that ‘grubs up’.” She said placing the food bowl on the table and taking her seat.

Pushing through his door and screaming “Belly flop”, I crushed him by jumping on his bed on top of him.

“Are you trying too squish me to death or are you naturally crazy?” Nathan yelled wiggling out from under me, but failing miserably.

“Nah, I’m crazy, but you’ve got to be stupid to ask me that. I mean since you’ve known me forever aren’t you suppose to know that your sister is a wacko?” I laughed getting off of him and walking out of the room.

“Yeah well, with you no one can be sure, that’s why I keep asking. I keep hoping that you would reach maturity one of these days but it never seems to come, too bad though. You would make a nice teenager instead of a child.”

“Bite me, I’m way more mature than you.” I said sticking out my tongue and dodging away from his arm from grabbing me.

We both sprinted down the stairs and into the dining room. Naturally, I lost. Let me explain why; I am short. My brother is tall and well the rest isn’t Rocket Science.

“It’s about time you two got here, the food is almost cold. It seems whenever your father isn’t here you two do what you want. Oh well at least you’re not breaking my house down.” Mum said shaking her head with a small smile on her lips.

Nathan and I are not exactly the most obedient children, but we know that we are loved.

“Ah mum, we were just having some fun...”

“Fun, I was a pancake not even two minutes ago!”

“That’s just because you didn’t listen when I called you.” I stated manner of factually.

“You called?” he asked uncertain.

“No, but you almost believed me! And you said I wasn’t mature.” I winked at my mother when she looked at me in disbelief. I am known for making people believe in the worst lies ever, but I also seem to fall for them as well.
