Chapter Eight

Alex’s POV

I woke up to a very irritating buzzing coming from under my pillow. It’s too early for this kind of stuff I still want to sleep. I opened one eye slightly and glared at my pillow that is no longer under my head but moved to the other side of the bed. I wonder how that got there. . . I reached a hand under it and found my cell phone. Without looking at the caller ID I threw it out the door that I had left open the night before.

Just as I threw my phone Nathan walked past my room, the phone flying towards his head. In a blink of an eye he caught my phone and answered it.

“Nathan speaking, what do you want Julia?” Nathan said in his casual edgy tone.

“No she is still sleeping. What about tonight?”

“Who’s coming along? Heath. Who is he suppose to be?”

“No she didn’t say anything to me. You think? Really?”

Hearing only one side of a conversation is not good for my head this early in the morning. I groaned and pulled the pillow over my head blocking out Nathan’s load voice.

I woke up at eleven feeling all fresh and looking forward to the day. The only problem was that Nathan was just waiting for me to wake up and as soon as he heard me fumbling about in my room, he came crashing up the stairs. Is there anyone in this house that does not have super hearing? Sheesh.

“Who’s Heath and why didn’t you tell me about this dinner at our place tonight?” Nathan asked sternly as he barged into the room.

“Oh crap, that’s tonight?” I like totally forgot about that. Oh well, no biggie. “Heath is a friend of Cathy if anything I thing you too will get along just fine; he is super freaky, just like you. You should be happy. You'll have a friend." I said sarcastically and rolled my eyes.

"Whatever. Just don't expect me to be friendly. I hate that." He said pretending to be bored.

"Oh; never will I lay such a burden on your shoulders my dear brother. For that I adore you too much. Now get out of my room so that I can get dressed." I said and chased Nathan out of the room while growling at him between my teeth.

"I should call Animal Planet. They would love seeing this animal in action!" Nathan said just before I hit the door shut in his face.

"Idiot." I mumbled and continued my daily routine to get dressed.

Now that I think of it; those two really would get along well. That's awesome. What's even more awesome is that is that I can ask Nathan to ask Heath if he has younger siblings for Julia; and I bet Nathan wouldn't mind finding a girlfriend in the process. I'm such an evil genius; but one with a good heart. Mwhahaha.  Wait!  Isn’t that a contradiction?  Who cares!  I feel like my life is a freaking contradiction anyways.

At ten past six Julia called me informing me that they were on their way. I'm so excited. I don't know why really but I still have that feeling that something is going to happen tonight. I squealed like a pig from the delight of uncovering a new mystery which is; finding out why I have this strange feeling.

"Okay, so what topic do you bring up when you need to start a new one?" I asked Nathan as if speaking to an eight year old.

"For Pete sake. I'm not five!" Nathan said becoming aggressive.

"I didn't pretend that you are five. I pretended that you are eight." I said and rolled my eyes at him. "Anyways how do I look?"

"Good enough to make a pig fly now will you stop asking that and open the damn door."
