Chapter six
Alex’s POV
After we laughed about well everything Heath, the guy that came to see Catherine, left. I was surprised that she hadn’t come out yet. She is probably busy or something. Heath seems like a nice guy I suppose. He kind of reminded me of Nathan. Not the niceness; he is just as tall as Nathan. He has the same dark hair. Even their eyes look the same now that I think about it. Weird.
Oh well, who cares. I guess all creepy guys look alike. I know, I know. I said Heath was nice, he is but that doesn’t mean he isn’t creepy. Thinking about it. All the creepy people I know are tall and dark haired. Super weird. Wait that other dude that was with that crazy cheerleader at last year’s ball was kind of creepy, but he had dirty blond hair. Seems not all creepy people look the same. That’s a shame. I could have written an article about it in the school newspaper.
I just started wondering why I was thinking about how creepy it is that Nathan and Heath seem so similar when my pocket began to vibrate.
“Hello mom?” I answered my phone when I saw it was my mom on the caller ID.
“Hello Dear, we had a little setback and we need to stay for another two nights, maybe three. Will that be okay?” Mom asked sounding guilty.
“No problem mom. Take your time, I promise I’ll have Nathan in the bed before ten and that I will not feed him any candy." Nathan would kill me if he could hear me now. At least he’s still at home, so there is no way he could hear me. Thank goodness for that.
“Well I’m glad I can count on you with that. You know how he likes his midnight sweet feast.” She said with a laugh and lots of sarcasm in her voice. She knew about my sweets feasts?
“Ouch, Mom. Midnight sweets feast rock!! Your just jealous dad wouldn’t let you join me.”
“Oh ,Deary, I have my own little sweet feasts. See you Sunday night Honey.”
“See ya mum. Love you.”
“You too, sleep tight love.” And she ended the call.
It’s strange how mothers seem to know everything. Maybe they really do have some super powers. That would be kind of awesome. Nah, if she had super powers she would have brought the lunch I forget at home to school for me with her super flight powers. Oh my goodness, maybe not. When I picture my mom bringing my lunch I can almost see her in her night gown and curlers in her hair. That would be a sight.
“Hey, Julia would you and your mum like to have dinner at our place tomorrow tonight?” We’re going to have Chinese; maybe tofu.” I asked Julia her as she stepped back in the shop from the bathroom.
“Sure, I’ll just ask her later. I haven’t seen her yet. She’s probably making something new for the store.” She said and plopped into the seat at the counter.
“Cool, okay. So what do you think about Heath? He seems interesting.” I asked. I’m really curious about him. No I’m not attracted to him, but in a weird way, I feel like there is something that connects him to me. Weird.
“Yeah, I get this weird feeling from him. And you know how I am when I have I have a feeling.” She said and stared at nothing in particular.”I have a feeling we’ll be seeing more of him.”
“Ooh, I hope we find out soon. You know how I love mysteries.” I said with an incredulous smile. I don’t know how that would look but it sounds awesome at the moment.
“For yeh knoweth the weirdness of thou soul and thouth shall liveth with thou weirdness for evermore!” She said in an overrated Shakespeare act accent and waved her arms around emphasising her words. She looked kind of nuts. Who am I kidding she is nuts!
