I can't believe Leia and Ari are throwing the pre-game party at my dorm. Owen is going to lose it when he finds out.
"I saw this girl freaking out about where to have an ice hockey party and I thought this place would work," Sammie explains to Owen, who remains ominously silent, prompting her to nervously scratch the back of her head.
"It's fine, not like anyone's gonna be getting it on here," Owen deadpans, surveying the room filled with booze and pizza, which earns a chuckle from me.
The guys are scattered around, some drinking and watching a hockey game on the couch. Tim and Miller are pestering Ari about whether she's going to the game, while Leia is engaged in a heated argument with Kateb, as per usual.
I quickly intervene when Sammie approaches Leia, sensing trouble brewing. Before Sammie has a chance to say anything too outrageous, I swiftly position myself by her side.
"This is my sister, Sammie," I gesture towards Sammie as Leia's eyes travel up and down her figure with a smirk.
"I see you got the good genes in the family," Leia comments, taking a casual swig of her beer.
Sammie looks exactly like me, she's a copy version of me, so basically Leia just called me the most handsome man in the world.
"Damn straight I did," Sammie retorts with a laugh. "But you and your friend are quite the lookers yourselves."
"Thank you," Leia responds with a smile that could pass for a threat, causing Sammie to chuckle and walk off to join Owen and Ari.
"Your sister looks a lot like you, black hair, blue eyes, beautiful smiles. You two twins?" Leia asks, studying Sammie.
"I got a beautiful smile, eh?" Leia scoffs, as if she didn't just admit to it.
I lean against the wall and watch Owen, Sammie, and Ari, in a conversation that has Ari and Sammie dying of laughter. Ant is asleep on the couch next to Miller. Ronald, Matt, and Mason are looking for something to watch on the TV, Tim and Kateb are mixing drinks in the kitchen.
"Don't let it go to your head,"
"Oh, you don't need to tell me, I have plenty of other people to feed my ego." I can practically see the steam pouring out of Leia's ears at the comment.
I'm right and she knows it, I can see that it makes her mad that she can't counter my response because it's true. I look her up and down admiring the way her breasts sit perfectly in the black
v-top crop top she's wearing, and her curves look great in those denim jeans. Her curls are down, and the scent of strawberries enters my nose making me hold back a smile.
"You know, there are only so many ways to get on a girl's bad side, and you sure have found every single one of them," she says as she twirls the red solo cup in her hand.
"I'm a fast learner."
"So it would seem."
"What can I say, I'm a master at what I do."
"Well, what a shame you're wasting it on a girl like me," Leia remarks, and I swear, for a moment, I see a flicker of regret on her face.
But, as usual, the moment passes and her face returns to its default expression, leaving me questioning if the regret was ever really there.
"It's a good thing there are other girls to practice on then, eh?" I joke.
Of course there are many other girls, but I wouldn't talk to them the way I talk to Leia. She gets my banter, and she isn't afraid to banter back. I like that about her.
