"Mayor Shavatzi! Mayor Shavatzi!" Yelled Everdean as she ran on the muddy floor, nearily tripping on her long thick dress, to the Mayor's house who was standing on the wooden porch talking to a local.
He turns around with a raised eyebrow while the younger woman peared over his shoulder.
"Will you quiet down! It's nearly lights out Miss Everdean!" He says in a harsh whisper.
"I-..." She began as she huffed out of breath and crouched down to catch her whiff on the columns.
"You what?!" Said the Mayor. Clearly not happy with her, as he repositioned his brown hat.
"I've murderers in my hotel!" She calls out louder than a whisper.
He shushes her quickly as she looked at him sheepishly. "I said keep it down! What nonsense are you on about?" He says frowning.
She walks onto the porch as it still drizzeled out. "I just let two people stay in my hotel. Their not from here. And I overheard them saying they want to kill me!" She says as she tries her best to keep her voice down, but to no avail.
"What?!" Said the young woman appearing behind the Mayor's back, gasping. He just rolled his eyes.
"Everdean. Don't tell me this is one of those stupid tarot card readings you did, and then reinvigorated yourself in." He says as he sighs in annoyance.
"No! It's not my tarot card readings! And they aren't stupid! I overheard them I swear! We must upperhand them at once!" She says loudly, as the Mayor shushed her again.
"No." He says simply as the younger woman still watched in terror.
"What do you mean no!?" Asks Everdean appalled.
"I mean that this isn't the first time you claim that something bad is about to happen or did happen. And how many times did it turn out to be nothing? Or a misconception?" He says as he crosses his arms.
"I-" She pauses for a moment realising her past mistakes.
"Yes your right.. And I'm sorry for that. But... This time it's true! They're both very suspicious, and didn't even come with any luggage!" She continues her accusation.
He sighs out while looking at the darkening Town. As little reindrops fell from the sky.
"Mayor Shavatiz... Please! I promise it isn't a misconception!" She says, looking up at the Mayor.
"We should give her a chance. If this turns out to be a lie, than she'll have to be the one to suffer the consequences. I mean who would lie about something like that!" Interrupted the woman also looking up at the Mayor.
"Fine, fine. Show me where they're Miss Everdean." He says as Everdean eagerly rushed to the cottage, while the Mayor and the woman follow suit.
I lay there dozing off into my peaceful sleep. The rain hitting the window softly as wind seeped through the curtins of the half open window. Making them sway outward.
Hunter was beside me. He was fast asleep. He looked peaceful. And so ethereal. His black wavy hair sat neatly on the soft white pillow. His bangs covering his forhead and a bit of his shut eyes. He seemed to of been dreaming. His eyelids moving visibly.
I was about to fall into deep slumber when I heard quick footsteps on the stone floor outside the window. It sounded like multiple. And then a loud thud coming from the entrance below.
I quickly sat up and sneaked to our room door trying to listen if I could hear anything.
"They're upstairs! Room 317, at the end on the right. Quick before they escape!" Said a loud muffled voice. I could tell that it's Everdean by her footsteps and her stupid voice. She's just a very noticiable person.
