Julia

I was frozen in time.

My body was melting into Jagger's before I could even protest, but I didn't want to protest.

I didn't even want to push him off. I wanted this even more than he did.

What in thr hell was wrong with us?

My hands found themselves holding onto his shoulders, my eyes closing along with his and we sailed off into blissfulness.

His tongue found mine and it's almost like an explosion went off inside of me... one I couldn't survive.

I couldn't believe I even let a little moan escape me, but to my surprise, so did Jagger.

Jagger

She tasted so good.

Why had I not attempted this before?

My heart felt so bad about using her to keep Samantha off my back, but my body and mind...

My body needed her.

"Thank you," I whispered, pulling away, "Please don't hate me. I'm not like this..."

"You owe me," she said, our foreheads resting against each other's.

"I know..."

A waitress escorted us to a booth in the back and I was completely mortified at the looks I was getting.

"I'm clearly out of my league..."

"Don't worry about them, Julia."

"They're staring at me."

"Yeah, well, they're judging me so let's order and go."

"But, -"

"Hi, Jag!"

Fuck.

"Hey, Sam.. fancy meeting you here," I said, eyeing Julia who looked surprisingly aggravated at the woman standing next to me, "This is my..."

I pleaded with Julia for a moment, my eyes meeting hers, desperately seeking her approval.

"His girlfriend, Julia," Julia smiled brightly and extended her hand for Samantha to shake.

I knew this wasn't going to end well for Julia, but she was definitely the better person in the entire situation.

Samantha stared at my date's hand like it was diseased and then glanced back at me, completely ignoring Julia's presence.

"I didn't know you were seeing someone.."

"I didn't know I had to run it by you, Sam."

"That's not what I mean," she scowled, "I thought we were friends."

I nodded, "Yes, until you went crazy. Now, if you don't mind, I'd like to have dinner with my girlfriend in peace."

Julia wasn't backing down. Her cute little smirk was exhilarating.

"Nice to meet you, Sam!"

I turned to Julia as we watched my ex stomp off.

"We both have ex psychos? Good to know..."

A look of relief washed over her as Sam and the others left the diner.

"Old friends of yours?"

"High school. They took Sam's side after we split."

"Why?"

"Because I wasn't the nicest person, but I didn't hurt her.. except to break it off, I promise you that."

"She cheated?"

"She.." I hesitated, but Julia was sincere, "She hit me."

Julia's face softened,"I'm so sorry, Jagger... truly."

"It's embarrassing," I admitted.

"Why?"

"Because I'm a guy..." I shrugged.

" Jagger, abuse is abuse and you're a survivor," Julia said, suddenly caressing the top of my hand,"Are you alright? Do you want to talk about it?"

I actually wasn't really sure if I was or not.

"My father thinks I am," I told her,"He's never going to think what happened to me was wrong."

Julia

I saw the pain in his eyes and I felt it.

Samantha treated him the way Eric treated me and none of it was copacetic.

Well, we had that in common, I supposed.. two lost souls just surviving.

"How did you... did you just get away?" I asked and then shook my head,"I'm sorry... I shouldn't pry."

He waved a hand, "You're the only one who seems to care."

My eyes probably showed the pain I felt for him because Jagger continued.

"Not many people validated an abused man when the abuse came from his girlfriend," he said, quietly.

"I didn't hit women and was at a low peak in my life. My father called me a pussy and wanted to kick me out of the will then.I deserved being hit, he said. "

"Why? Why would he say that?"

"It built character or some bullshit."

"That's crazy, Jagger. No one deserves that at all."

"It's how he shows love," he said, sarcastically, "The guy is evil."

None of us were perfect it seemed.

Here I thought Jagger had it all and he had... football and Moose.

I guess now he had me.

Jagger

"Stay at my place tonight," I told her, "No strings."

"No strings?" She yawned as we walked across campus, "Can I borrow some clothes?"

"Sure, but they'll swallow you whole."

"You said swallow."

I chuckled as she leaned against me, "I thought I was the perv?"

A giggle escaped her as we headed into my dorm.

I brought her joggers and a shirt, changing in my room while she took the bathroom.

When she emerged, I noticed her holding an unopened toothbrush.

"Can I use it?"

I smiled, "Of course.".

It was the strangest thing to get ready to bed next to someone who wasn't family, a close friend, or a lover, but it also felt.. right.

I crawled into bed first and patted the spot next to me.

"I won't bite, I swear."

Laying beside me, Julia faced me, her eyes searching mine for something as I searched hers.

"Sweet dreams, Jagger..."

I watched as she slowly closed her eyes, somehow trusting me.

She was completely sober and trusting me with her body.

I'd never hurt her, but I couldn't believe I'd told her my truth.

"Sweet dreams, Julia."
