Julia
"Ugh, you're infuriating," I rolled my eyes and shuffled some papers, noticing he only had a notebook and pencil with him.
"Where are your books? What topic do you want to cover?"
He simply stared at me like I was talking about something foreign.
"Jagger... "
"War crimes, I guess?"
"Yes, but whose? What time? Who is involved?"
"I haven't thought that far."
Jagger
I was not making this easy on the girl at all. Not my intention, but I simply wasn't interested in school.
I liked life too much to care about grades and studying.
"What would you suggest?"
"Huh?" Julia stumbled over her thoughts as she tried to figure me out, "Jagger, I am not doing the work for you so don't even ask."
"I'm hurt that you've even think such a thing."
She smiled a little and took out our sociology book.
"We'll just start with a chapter and go from there, alright?"
"Sure," I shrugged, desperate to get back to the frat house.
I let her do most of the talking until my phone rang and I had to interrupt her.
"Moose, how goes it?" I held up a finger and stepped out, much to her annoyance.
I watched the other door to the room open and thought it was the librarian, but it was some guy I didn't recognize.
"You still on for tonight?"
"Hell yes, I am," I said, eyeing the guy who was talking to Julia, "How many parties is this? Two tonight?"
"Yeah, but I'm sure there'll be more," Moose chuckled, "Anyway, where the hell are you?"
"The library."
"You feeling alright?" Moose joked.
"Look, I might be a good player, but my dad will kick my ass if I fail," I narrowed my eyes when Julia stood up, looking angry and flustered at the guy who seemed to grow more and more aggravated with her.
"What the hell?"
Julia
"I said we were through so we're through, Eric. Done. Finished. Over. We didn't work out," I knew going to the same school as my psycho ex was going to be my downfall, but I didn't think he'd be this bad.
"You're not fucking this guy, are you?"
"Who? Jagger? Not that it's any of your business, but we're just classmates," I said, packing my stuff into my book bag,"No need for you to get mad."
Suddenly, Eric grabbed my by the arm and pushed me up against the wall.
"Eric! What the fuck are you doing?"
The door to the main entrance flew open and in rushed a very angry, very wild and feral Jagger.
He took one look at me and then grabbed Eric by the neck, pushing him back into the table and leaning over him.
"What the hell are you doing, prick?!"
Eric tried to wiggle free, but Jagger was much bigger than my ex whosr arm was now twisted behind his back thanks to Jagger.
"N-nothing.. Tell him, Julia!"
I frowned, "Lies. He's a creep who isn't taking no for an answer."
Jagger locked eyes with me and then pushed himself further onto Eric who cried out in pain.
"So, if a lady says no, what do we do, asshole?"
Eric didn't answer.
Jagger chuckled, "I've got nowhere else to be, asshole. I can break your arm in half if that's what ya need."
"Yes! Yes!" Eric sobbed, "Leave them alone. Leave a lady alone.*
Jagger sighed,"Fast learner."
He pulled away from Eric who slumped to the floor.
"You alright?"
I stared in shock as Eric rushed out of the room.
"Uh, yeah.. thank you... "
Jagger
"Punk ass," I snarled as we headed out, "Eric Landers. I know him. He's in my biology class."
She shook her head, "I'm sorry that happened. He's not the nicest guy. I found out the hard way, sadly."
I smiled, "Well, if he gives you any trouble, let me know. I can kill him for you." I winked at her, but she made me laugh when her face looked as if she was considering it.
"No, he's just a jerk. He's never done that before," she admitted,"I left before it got that far. "
"Well, clearly he's got some mental issues and I'd stay far away. Maybe you should go to the cops. "
She shook her head,"Hes got connections. "
"So do I, ladybug," I told her, "I could rough him up for you.."
She stopped and turned to me.
"I promise it'll be alright," she said, "He was probably just trying to piss you off."
I narrowed my eyes, "He did. He put his hands on you and I'm not going to tolerate it."
She smiled, halfheartedly. Eric would be dealt with without hesitation, but first I wanted to get her mind off of it.
"Go out with me tonight," I said, "We'll have fun."
Her hesitation only made me want to work at getting her to say yes. Now it wasn't even about getting laid.
How could I keep an eye on her if she was at her dorm all night?
"We're not a thing," she said,"I don't want anything like that from you. "
I held up my hands,"I get it–we aren't even in the same pond here, but maybe I wanna make sure you're not going to deal with dick weed tonight. Come on! I promise to only try and get your clothes off maybe three times.."
She smiled, rolling her big eyes at me.
"You're an asshole."
"That's probably true, but I'm not Eric and I promise you'll have a good time."
"And if I don't?"
"If you really don't have a good time, I'll go to those silly extra credit classes you're always running off to. "
She perked up and I knew she thought she'd won.
"You've got a deal. "
