After that stressful time with all the exams, Y/n started to grow closer to Lin and his friends. There was a friend named Michael who asked her out on a date and she agreed. They started going out after. Everything was finally getting good. She had a boyfriend and friends. All that was because someone was kind to her and bought her coffee. She was grateful for Lin and for all her friends. She loved everyone. She was finally happy. One day, after all her lectures, Y/n went up to Lin and his friend group, "Hey, guys!" She turned to Michael and kissed him, "Hey, beautiful." She nodded to Lin, "Lin." He nodded back then chuckled, "Y/n and Michael are so cute together, am I right?"

Murmurs of agreement were heard from everyone as Y/n held Michael's hand. She was very happy with him. He treated her like a queen and respected her. She kept talking about random stuff with her friends and suggested they go to a nearby café. Everybody agreed and they got moving.

When they arrived at the café, Y/n sat by the table with Michael by her side and Lin by the other. Micheal whispered to her, "Y/n, why are you sitting next to Lin-Manuel Miranda?"

She whispered back, "I sat down next to you. This was pure coincidence."

He rolled his eyes and started humming to himself. She got lost in thought about random stuff until Lin included her in the conversation.

Months passed and things between Y/n and Michael escalated quickly. They started disagreeing on a lot of stuff and noticing they have different personalities and opinions in general. One day, after her lectures, of course, Y/n sent Michael a message,

Michael, we need to talk.

Michael♡: sure

Meet me in my dorm room in 10mins.

Michael♡: k cu

She waited for him and he came late. As soon as he entered the room, Y/n spoke, "Michael, we should break up."

"Baby, why?"

"Look, Michael, I really love and respect you, but I don't think things would work between us. We're just...incompatible."

He nodded, "I get it."

She was surprised, "Wait, really?"

"I mean, I can't force you into a relationship, can I?"

"True."

"Well, then, now you're my crazy Ex." He chuckled and so did she.

"Ha. Ha. I'd be glad to still be your friend, Mike."

"You didn't think I really wanted to end our friendship!"

"Never gonna happen." She got up and hugged him, "Let's go get a drink. To a new beginning!"

"Sure, let's go."

They called the friend group and settled for a bar near campus. Y/n was starting to really like her life. She drank only one shot, avoiding getting drunk. Lin came to her, "Hey."

"Hey."

"How you doing?"

"I feel great!"

He raised one eyebrow, "First couple I've ever met that goes partying after their breakup."

"See, that's a mature couple."

"I like how you're so..." He stopped to think, "I don't know, honestly. All I can say is perfect."

She smiled but brushed the compliment off, "First things first, no human is perfect. What makes us humans are our imperfections. Secondly, explain why I'm 'perfect'."

He nodded and chuckled, "I mean, you're so mature and understanding and surprisingly kind..."

"Hey!" She smacked him on his shoulder.

"Whoa. I mean, the first time I met you, you weren't exactly mature or kind..."

She nodded slowly, "True."

He started chuckling, "Remember how you thought I wanted to sleep with you?"

She shuddered but chuckled, "Dark times."

He nodded, "Well, you turned out to be a very mature person."

She was gonna answer when Rebecca, her best friend approached them, "Y/n, you plannin' on just leaving us all for Lin?"

"You know what? You're right." Y/n answered then yelled to the group, "Guys, everybody gets a drink, on me!"

Shouts of agreement and celebrations were all over the place. Y/n got herself another shot as a celebration. That's when Michael approached her, "Y/n, this isn't only your party. It's mine too."

"Yeah, I know." Her statement sounded more like a question.

"Y/n, let me pay half. You can't buy drinks for the whole group."

"Michael." She shook her head and started to protest but he interrupted, "I'm not offering anything. I will pay half."

"I know you are, in fact, very stubborn so I will not argue."
