One year passed and life was really great for Y/n. She had her awesome group of friends and she was still acing her subjects. Her only problem was that she was really getting tired with medicine. She didn't like that anyway. Sure, she had the best grades but she didn't want to study something she didn't like. She hated being forced to do stuff and her mother wasn't usually the type of person that let her do what she wanted. Her relationship with Lin was very strong now. She sent him a message,

Lin, Idk what to do. Help

Linnnn: Everything ok?

Yep, I'm just tired of medicine

Linnnn: Ohhh I get it.

So?

Linnnn: Just leave it and continue your college years studying education.

Yeah makes sense

Linnnn: So?

Idk...

Linnnn: Y/N, YOU DONT WANNA DO IT THEN DON'T!

Ok ok I'll just leave it.

Linnnn: Great, wanna hang out?

Sure

Linnnn: I'll pick you up from your dorm

But don't we have lectures?

Linnnn: It's Sunday lol...

Oops

Linnnn: So I'll pick you up?

Yep waiting

She sighed a sigh of satisfaction. She really thanked God every day for her life and for Lin. He was really a blessing in her life and she started to really like him - in a platonic way, of course. But was it really platonic? Y/n was really starting to like Lin, but she couldn't tell anyone. She then started to think about her father. What if Lin is just like my father? She had cut all connections with her mother but she was still in touch with her sister. She decided to send her a message while waiting,

Heyyy

That's when her door knocked. She opened the door to see Lin standing there. She squeezed him in a bear hug and he hugged her back. She pulled away to see that he got her a smoothie. Her favourite. She took it and hugged him a shorter hug. They walked out together to go to a nearby café. It wasn't really that far from campus so they walked there. Thankfully, the café was almost empty and there wasn't anybody they knew. They sat across from each other. That's when Y/n began to speak, "Lin, I have a problem."

His features turned serious, "What? Is everything okay?"

She took a deep breath, "I think I like someone."

A big smile broke across his face, "Do I know him?"

She nodded and she could see the excitement on his face so she chuckled. The excited ball of energy across her asked with enthusiasm, "Who?"

She took an even deeper breath and squeezed her eyes shut as she said, "You."

All his excitement suddenly disappeared. She could feel it but she didn't want to see the mocking/shocked/disappointed face she was sure she'd get. She looked down at her pants and opened her eyes. She still couldn't see him and he didn't say a thing. She was glad he was thinking instead of mocking her. She still was sure she didn't want to know what he thought about. Suddenly, he spoke, "Y/n, you're so brave."

She didn't look up, "What?"

He continued, "Well, I've been thinking the same about you for a long time, but I never had the courage to say a thing. I- Can we just try it out? A- And maybe if it doesn't work out we'd still be friends like you and Michael. A-"

She interrupted him, "Lin, shut up."

He nodded and stopped rambling. Y/n continued, "Look, all you had to say was 'I like you too.' That's it, basically."

Lin smiled, "I like you too." He reached for her hand and he held it. They kept staring at each other and holding hands until Lin got up and walked to her side, "Y/n, I like you too." Suddenly, she felt nothing but these words echoing through her brain and his soft lips on hers. She kissed him back and pulled away, "I feel like you're the one."

He pulled her up, "Who knows? Let's go tell everyone!"

"Lin, can we not tell them what happened? I want it to be a special thing between the two of us."

He smiled, "I can totally understand why I liked in the first place."

She smiled too. She now really liked her life. Lin was different from Michael. Michael was like 'hey let's try this wanna hang out?', but with Lin, she was the one who liked him first. It took her a year and a half to get to know him and to know she actually liked him. She was the one who confessed, and it was definitely not just 'trying this'. She knew that even if it didn't work out, she was gonna love her time with him. Sure, she liked her time with Michael, but this felt more...real. They walked together to campus, holding hands. They sat on a bench next to each other. That's when Y/n felt her phone buzz in her pocket. It was a message. She opened it. It was her sister,

Sissy: Heyoo

How are you?

Sissy: Ugh I wish I had good grades like you!

Pshh hey I have some news.

Sissy: WHAT?

So, I know you love to know everything about my love life...

Sissy: Wait
Sissy: Is that what I think it is?

Well, if you think I have liked Lin-Manuel Miranda for a while and decided to confess today, then you're right!

Sissy: Damnnn
Sissy: What did he say?

He was nervous and kept rambling a lot but he likes me too!

"Hey, I didn't ramble!" Lin protested as he looked at her phone.

She raised an eyebrow, "Are you lying to me or yourself?"

He wanted to change the subject, "Hey, your sister seems pretty chill."

"Uh, she's my younger sister. She got my personality traits so she's perfect."

"I mean, if she is really just like you then she's perfect."

"But, yeah, no one is perfect tho."

"You may not be perfect, but I feel like you're perfect for me."

She smiled and pecked him on the cheek. She then turned to see what her sister sent her,

Sissy: I'd love to meet him sometime

Come visit in your next vacation k?

Sissy: Duh.

K bye Lin is actually waiting for me to finish texting.

Sissy: Please tell him that if he hurts you I will haunt him in his nightmares and will murder him :)

Ok lol

Y/n put her phone down. Lin asked her, "Was that all about me?"

She chuckled, "Yeah and apparently, if you hurt me she will haunt you in your nightmares and murder you."

He put his hands up in the air, "Whoa, I will most certainly not hurt you. Y/n, if anyone hurts you, I will make them wish to die."

"A bit excessive, aren't you two?" She chuckled.
