The class proceeded with Yunjin effortlessly leading the discussion, her passion for teaching evident in every word she spoke. I found myself captivated by her presence, grateful for the opportunity to learn from someone so knowledgeable and inspiring.
As the lesson drew to a close, Yunjin turned to me with a warm smile and subtly gestured towards her phone , indicating that I should check her text message.
"Let's have lunch at your usual place :)" Yunjin's text read, her smile reflecting in her eyes as she awaited my response.
Returning her smile, I nodded eagerly, grateful for the opportunity to spend some time together outside of class, "Sounds perfect. You're driving ;)" I replied, feeling a sense of warmth and anticipation spreading through me at the prospect of sharing a meal with my future... ahem wife.
As we walked to our usual lunch spot, the warmth of Yunjin's smile and the anticipation of our meal together lifted my spirits. However, amidst the excitement, Yunjin suddenly became serious and spoke "Y/N, there's something I need to talk to you about," she began, her voice soft but resolute. "It's about Kazuha."
My heart skipped a beat at the mention of Kazuha's name. What could Yunjin possibly know about her? And more importantly, what could she possibly want to tell me?
Taking a deep breath, I braced myself for whatever news Yunjin was about to deliver. "What about Kazuha?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady despite the growing sense of unease.
Yunjin hesitated for a moment, her gaze flickering with uncertainty before she spoke. "I saw her earlier today, and she seemed... troubled," she began slowly, choosing her words with care. "She mentioned something about needing to talk to you, but she seemed hesitant, as if she was wrestling with something."
My heart sank at Yunjin's words, a knot of worry forming in the pit of my stomach. What could be troubling Kazuha so much that she couldn't bring herself to confide in me?
"Did she say what it was about?" I pressed, my voice tinged with concern.
Yunjin shook her head, her expression grave. "No, she didn't go into detail. But whatever it is, I think you should talk to her. She looked like she could use a friend."
Nodding solemnly, I thanked Yunjin for her concern before finishing up my meal so that both of us could head back to campus.
As I made my way out of the car after bidding Yunjin goodbye, my mind raced with a flurry of anxious thoughts. I needed to find Kazuha and get to the bottom of whatever was troubling her, no matter what it took.
As I searched the campus for any sign of Kazuha, my heart pounded in my chest with each passing moment. Where could she be? And more importantly, what could be weighing so heavily on her mind?
Finally, after what felt like an eternity of searching, I spotted Kazuha sitting alone on a bench, her expression distant and preoccupied. Without hesitation, I hurried over to her side, my concern for my friend overriding any lingering doubts or fears.
"Kazuha, is everything okay?" I asked softly, my voice laced with genuine concern.
Startled, Kazuha looked up at me with wide eyes, as if she hadn't even noticed my approach. For a moment, she seemed lost for words, her gaze searching mine as if trying to find the courage to speak.
Then, with a heavy sigh, she finally spoke, her voice barely above a whisper. "Y/N, there's something I need to tell you..."
