It's a lovely morning; the sun shone brightly in the sky, and birds chirped melodiously around a charming two-storey house. However, there was a flurry of activity inside. Let's take a closer look at what was happening. We could see everyone bustling about, attending to their various tasks. In the midst of this chaos, a cute little girl sat on the couch, dressed in her school uniform, her head resting on the shoulder of an older man, peacefully asleep. A thirty-year-old man, who was also busy with his work, suddenly paused and gazed at the adorable girl with wide eyes.
"Wake up, doll! If di sees you sleeping, she will be furious. Wake up!" Rishu said and shook her vigorously.
"Let me sleep, Mamu! I don't want to go to school!" Mannat cried, then turned back to sleep.
Shaking his head, Rishu looked over at Raman, his father, who was busy writing something. Confused, he asked, "Papa, what are you doing instead of waking her up?"
Before Raman could respond, a voice came from behind them, saying, "Your dear doll homework as she hasn't completed it."
Widening his eyes, Rishu turned to see Ishita, his mother, coming from the kitchen with tiffin boxes. She placed one in Mannat's school bag.
Rishu exclaimed, "Homework! She didn't complete her homework again! Di is definitely going to kill me this time!" (He made a crying face.)
As Ishita placed the other boxes in their respective bags, she glared at Rishu, placing her hands on her hips. "So now you're afraid? Who was it that came home yesterday with a video game and said loudly, 'Doll, look! I got a new video game! Let's play!' And then you forgot to help her with her homework, and she fell asleep after playing."
Raman: "Will you all stop shouting? Let me finish this, or else she will hear us." Just as he finished his statement, a voice came from behind, one that made them all nervous. "What will she hear, and what are you all talking about?"
They turned to see a beautiful woman in her mid-thirties, her face devoid of makeup and emotions, dark circles under her eyes revealing her lack of sleep over many nights. Only a hint of lip balm adorned her pouty lips. Clad in a pale yellow suit, a simple chain graced her neck. Her hair was braided, with a single strand resting on her face, enhancing her beauty. She was trying to fasten her wristwatch with one hand while holding her white coat and stethoscope in the other as she descended the stairs. She looked up to see them staring at her in wide-eyed silence.
Confused, she asked, "What? Why are you all staring at me like that?" Then she paused, surveying the scene, and everyone hurriedly resumed their tasks. Her mother attempted to hide Mannat's sleeping figure, her brother tried to engage her in conversation, and her father scribbled something hurriedly. Then she heard her brother say:
Rishu: "Di, you're finally here! When are you going to take a break from work? I hardly see you these days."
With narrowed eyes, she replied, "You know I can't take a break. Dr. Desai is out of town, and I need to look after his patients and manage the work."
"Wait, Why are you asking this, and where is that little brat, Mumma?"
"She's right here, beta, but can't you take just one day off? It's been ten days since you've been working continuously. Look at your face; there are dark circles under your eyes. You're not the only doctor here to handle all the work." Ishita said worriedly with concern knowing very well how much work her Daughter doing from past 7years to remove all the loans of this house and still working.
"Mumma it's not like that ,you know Ritesh sir, he give me dr Desai cases and his works and you know I can't refuse him" she replied while going towards dining and start checking mannat's bag.
