Chapter 49: I want revenge

“ What !! Really you did this?.” Manik asks in disbelief. Nandini nodded embarrassedly.

Manik laugh hysterically and ask again showing his straight palm “ means he was like this you made him this” he turn his palm at 90°

Nandini smack his arms and said” cheeee Manik have some shame.”

Manik laughed and said” what cheee you can do these things and I can't even show you, naughty girl. Oh god I can't believe it that you really did this.” 

Manik laughed hard, clutching his stomach. Seeing him laughing Nandini too laughed and said “ even I don't believe I did this. You know Manik. I used to feel so disgusted when he came close to me. So I did this for relief.” 

Controlling himself, Manik ask” then why didn't you permanently destroy his weapon if you used to hate his touch?.”

Nandini became serious and said remembering her past” because at that time I was all set to divorce him by proving Rohit was cheating on me with Anya after my 4th party encounter with him and seeing how he burnt my chest then locked me in a room for 3 days just because Arnav hugged me. That was the first time they gave him drugs which I didn't know. But that incident left a scar on my soul……. “ Nandini stops as realization hits her that she is telling Manik about what Rohit used to do with her. She tries to cover up by saying “ No ..woh… Rohit didn't…. Did..woh.” Manik, who understands Nandini's thinking , cut her and said “ Dr. I know Rohit used to beat you and after that lock you in a dark room.”

Nandini shockingly looked at him while Manik added immediately seeing her face “woh in dr Geeta part you told me that Rohit's bua used to cover up when rohit used to beat you.”

“ I told you this?.” Nandini ask shockingly yet confusedly

“ Yes.. of course or how.. would I have known?” Manik replied nervously.

When he saw Nandini was not convinced so he said” leave this Nandini and please tell me what rohit did with you if you want me to punish him because I should know what he did with you. Please, I promise I won't judge you.”

Nandini has a battle in her mind and heart. Her heart is saying to trust Manik and tell him her bitter past but her mind is warning her that if she tells Manik her past he will leave her. She didn't know what to do but hearing Manik's words she decided to follow her heart. so she started

“ Yes he used to beat me to pulp. I don't know if you know this or not. After my marriage, I and Rohit used to live near my house for 8 months. After that we shifted to the outer city which was 2 hours away from the city.”

 Manik said “I know this through Rishu but why do you ask?.”

“ We shifted to the outer city so that no one will be able to see what Rohit Anya and Reema aunty did with me. That house is built in such a place that apart from that house no house was there.” Manik cut her and said “ framehouse you mean.”

“ Yes, somewhat like that. Only their trusted servants were there. No one was there who will save me from there torture. You know my daily routine was like get up, get humiliated, insulted then get beaten up by Rohit for a mistake which I never committed as he used to be under drug effects, then have to warm his bed in beaten up state only, then get lock in dark room without giving me first aid,water and food then stay there until Rohit effect was over. he will take care of me till when Anya or his mother give him drugs and cycle repeat. This is what my life was” Nandini stopped as her throat choked with tears remembering her worst days. How she used to beg and plead to them even from servants to save her but no-one helped her.

While Manik looked at her in shock, his jaw clenched, fist tight. His veins pop out in anger hearing her words.

Without seeing Manik's condition Nandini continued while tears flowed from her eyes “ so the first time he burnt my chest and locked me in the room. It really scares me. I cry, beg, plead to take me out but my shout went deaf ear. When Rohit took me out after 3 days he didn't even remember what he did with me but I thought he was joking until naksh showed me their reality. Naksh was a Sudha aunty son who was a rohit family's most trusted maid. Naksh was 8 years younger than me and used to claim he loved me. Manik you know if I'm alive in front of you it's all because of Naksh, Tina( naksh babysis)and sudha aunty. They were a blessing for me.” Remembering them a genuine smile comes on Nandini's face. Manik looks at her at the mention of naksh.
