shattered dreams

Bright stars,
Proud gazes,
Beauty beside ,
Is what we imagined our future to be like.

It was a time ,
I had wildest goals,
Jumping off beds
In hopes to fly ,
As I can do whatever I like.

There was an image,
Of a perfect life in our minds.
We'd think of becoming
Dancers,singers, doctors or scientists.

A time when we'd dream of saving
All the children of the school,
sitting on the bench of our schools
We could be anything and do everything.

Paint a horse red and the elephant blue,
And yet we could the greatest painters the world ever knew.

And now here we are,
Trying to be atleast human,
Struggling to live by with all the expectations.

Lost are our dreams of a perfect life ,
As we've started to realise
It has always been a false image.
Never even if we jump high,
Would we ever be able to fly.
