“What?! Are you out of your mind, Althea?” Bulalas ko nang marinig ang suhestiyon niya.

No way in hell I would do it! I know I like this certain guy in our school but I am not that desperate to do the move.

Bakit? Mukha ba akong desperada? Yes, I wanted to be notice by him since the first time I like him but I would never ever lay this low that I will lower down my pride and make this.

“Come on, Rhobie. This is your chance, aayaw ka pa? You just need to put this freaking love potion on his tumbler, dummy.” she showed me a very tiny bottle that has something inside of it.

Napakagat labi ako. Well, it‘s not like it‘s gonna be different naman, ’di ba? I mean, he‘s a snob. I know this isn‘t big deal for him. Ako lang naman itong epal na gumagawa ng paraan.

I rolled my eyes at her. Ayaw ko. Ayuko.

I tried so hard to keep my promise that I will not do any of her bidding but at the end, I lose it.

She fvcking won.

Damn it. Mas desperada pa itong si Althea kaysa saakin ei.

Hala, what if crush niya din si Dustin? No. No. She's just helping me to get Dustin‘s attention. That‘s it.

“ARELLANO FOR THREE!” That's it! Dustin Arellano, the most sought-after basketball player in our university got the attention of the people around me through his three-points shot. Galing niya talaga. No wonder I'm head over heels in love with this guy.

I looked around me to check kung may nakatingin sa direksiyon ko at nang makitang kay Dustin pa rin ang mga atensiyon nila ay dali-dali kong binuksan ang water bottle niya at tsaka agaran din itong sinara.

I tried so hard to relax my breathing and was about to leave my place when a very familiar voice echoed inside the gym.

“You put something on my water bottle, miss Crisostomo. What is it?” He asked.

Halos maluha ako nang makita kong nasaakin na pala ang mga mata ng mga estudyante. Nakakahiya. Kung pu-puwede lang sana na hilingin sa Maykapal na ibuka ang lupang kinatatayuan ko at kainin ako nang buo ay ginawa ko na.

“I‘m asking you, what is it?”

I looked around, ignoring his question, hence the stares of the students in this university. Nagbabakasakali ako na nasa paligid ko lang si Althea.

She did promised me!

“Hoy, Rhobie! Kinakausap ka!”

Napairap ako nang umiksena ang epal sa tabi. Bakit ba tanong sila nang tanong? Hindi ba pu-puwedeng mag shut up nalang sila? What if mag cry nalang ako?

I turned my head to face him. Shit, ang pogi niya parin kahit pawisan siya.

“Cariño, what did you put in my water bottle?”

“Uhmm... J-just—”

“Love potion ’yon, Dustin! Gusto kang gayumahin.”

My breathing hitched. D-did Althea just... betrayed me?

“Althea...” I uttered, totally shedding tears.

“Sorry Rhobie, uto-uto ka pala eh. Bye!”

Disgusted. Disgraced. Ashamed. Embarrassed. And totally disappointed with my self, I grabbed my tote bag on the table and was about to run—to runaway from this embarrassing and unforgettable moment in myself when he called my name.

“Really, Rhobie? Gagayumahin mo‘ko?” He chuckled insultingly.

Damn. I have never been this ashamed in my entired life. Just now. I have never experienced to be embarrassed in front of many people. Just now. And it happened because of this so called best friend of mine who did nothing but to betray me. Fvcking traitor. A back fighter.

“Please, Dustin...” I bit my lower lip to stop my tears from falling. “I‘m sorry.”

“See, guys. Gusto talaga ako nito. Sabi nga bang gusto niya ako eh.”

Holding the mic in his hands, he slowly walked towards me, making my hand tremble in so much embarrassment. I tightly closed my eyes and ready myself on his insults when I felt a very warm and gentle hand caressed my face, making me open my eyes widely.

“Damn, baby. You really did it huh?” He whispered through the microphone.

“I‘m so in love with this girl, and I cannot believe the feeling‘s mutual after all.”

Tuluyan nang tumulo ang luha ko nang mapagtanto ko ang ibig niyang sabihin.

They did it on purpose?!

I caught Althea on the other side, making a peace sign and smiling like an idiot.

“I‘m sorry best friend! Hindi talaga love potion iyon! Tsaka sorry na, napag-utusan lang din naman ako ah, torpe kasi masyado HAHAHAH!”

I glared at her and turned my piercing to Dustin. “Did you just manipulate me?” I accused him.

“No, baby. I just made sure the feeling‘s mutual.” He smiled, showing me the set of dimples on the corner of his lips.

“Everyone, this si Rhobie, the love of my life!” He announced. Napalunok na lang ako dahil sa sobrang kahihiyan.

“I‘ll just finish this game and then I'm yours.” He whispered, grabbed the ball and ran towards the court.

Can‘t believe this just happened. Or I‘m just imagining some things again?
