"Ugh! Time is so slow! I can't believe I already WANT to go back to school." Chara complained to zonthra and frisk who were just admiring the sounds of the bateau porch sea. "I forget sometimes things are boring reality is than visiting the underworld." They sit up and glanced at thier friends; squinting their eyes at zonthra. "Hey,"

"Hmm?" Frisk spun around to meet charas face. "Haven't you ever wondered why Kris is always so quiet now, and... never aging?" They paused for a moment allowing frisk to reply. "No. They probably use those fancy face creams and masks."

"True." Chara affirmed.

"Hey Kris." Frisk said, zonthra turned around.

"What's with the sudden change yesterday? You could've just... left us, asriel, and Loriel, to be killed off for treasure. But... you didn't." Their brow frowned at the thought. "Why?"

They semi closed their eyes at them skeptically. "What?" They asked, a little annoyed. "I'm being serious this time."

Zonthra smiled a little.
"I thought you wanted to talk about my skin care." They joked. "I hate you."  Chara playfully punched them on the arm, they giggled. "I know, I know. Your just easy to mess with."
Chara sat back down in the middle, glancing at Kris sternly.
"But in all seriousness. Why didn't you?"
"That's what I wanna know to, you were all: "mine mine mine!". Now, you're just... oddly quiet and kind." Frisk added. "What changed your mind?"

Zonthra considered it for a while, then shrugged. "I... had a- (no, that's not an honest answer.) I... don't know, it was if... I had an ache in my heart too agonizing to ignore." Yes. That's honest enough. They thought. The half siblings sigh heavily. "It's called gut feeling and consciousness, Kris." Chara explained. "Everyone has it."

Zonthra shifted thier sitting position away from them uncomfortably. Fortunately for the always concerned duo, they had to ask what's wrong. "Did we say something to make you upse-" zonthra held up a hand."No." "I just... feel weird. It's like- I don't know how to explain it well." "It's as if... I've done this before..?" They admitted in a question to the gods in the sky. The half siblings glanced at zonthra with a half worried half concerned look. There was a long silence before frisk broke the quiet.
"Even if we could get a second chance like the underworld demons and fallen angels." Frisk started. "I think I prefer being in my old place in the surface than being in world where I know little about and don't want to get to know anyone because they might think I'm improper or lacking empathy" They looked at zonthra and quickly added. "No offense, Kris."

"None taken." They replied nonchalantly.

"It's not like I don't want to be there. I just prefer, to know that I'm in a safe space rather than an unknown world I barely understand." They admitted. The tension between them, rising. "Instead of talking about alternate realities, how about we go eat at my house?" Frisk suggested, at last getting up to go. Chara stretches their arms, yawning: "Yeah, I'm getting hungry. We've talked enough about alternative universes already."

"Come on Kris! Ana is making dinner tonight!" They called out when zonthra was still sitting at the dock. And they began to walk away, almost forgetting that they were still quiet. "Just a minute!" They shouted back. *Clink

Zonthras ears perked upward, and they crouched to peer through the water; a gold, ruby heart shaped object, somehow floating above the surface. With it's glowing red light around it, zonthra picked it up and closed the red aura in their hands. Wondering who's locket it was; opening its latch, formed a picture of their younger brother, asriel. The other two figures beside him were possibly his biological parents.

But... they never got the chance to know them personally due to their early illnesses, that remained undiagnosed.

"(I wonder what it would be like to have them as grandparents.)" they thought in nostalgia; back in their own home, they had so much family, some they didn't even know. Loriel rarely spoke much about toriel and her sisters husband, but they observed that she was really fond of an older sister to look up too.  Oh! What's this? They noticed a small child in a green-yellow striped sweater, smiling broadly at the picture, wearing a red headband, short cropped hair that shaded their eyes for some illogical reason on the other side of the ruby red locket.

What the fuc- "Kris! I'm going eat all fresh calzones Ana made if you don't hurry your ass up!" Chara called out. I'm a hurry, they throw the locket immediately in the sea and dash back to their friends. "Don't you dare. Think about eating my calzones bitch!"
