Chapter 14: The Serial Killer Murder Case

{Anna's POV}

Being released from the charges that were given to my brother, Crystal, and I had me happy and relieved with the outcome. With the verdict being passed and being told by the council that I am reinstated temporarily for this new case. It had made me upset, I just wanted to finish my pregnancy in peace and enjoy having a baby. I was only given a week to recuperate and relax with my mate. I only had made a small file on the murders because it was a favor for a friend in the neighboring pack.

I had about 2 months left of my pregnancy, and I was given this last case to solve by the council. They wanted it solved soon but it had to stick in the court of law. After leaving the trial I went to the pack doctor to make sure that everything in my pregnancy was fine and ok. We had decided early on in the pregnancy that we wanted the gender to be a surprise. With the curse finally gone on Alaric and having done my pregnancy mostly alone. I wanted to just be with my mate for a while. In the week I was given by the council, my mate and I enjoyed being in each other's company.

Alaric and I had gone shopping for the baby essentials and supplies. We were not going to do a baby shower but that is how we got most of the essentials for our pup. It was thrown by Alaric's mother, Chloe, she had insisted that she throw one even though we were going to have one. Everything we had gotten was gender-neutral, but they were pretty and nice and not ugly like some of the stuff we saw. We painted a room by our bedroom the color a pastel blue and green because the nursery's theme is safari animals. The idea of having a themed nursery was Alaric's idea. I never liked having a gender based on a color, but I think the colors fit well with the ones Alaric picked.

After spending some time for just Alaric and I. I had no choice but to get on the case of the serial killers and why they were killing people to draw attention to them. That was the question that was just bugging me. The problem was that I was pregnant and solving a case that could get me killed. With that issue, Alaric didn't want me going out alone without him or my bodyguards. It was my usual guards Alex, Alaric, or the ones that Alaric had picked.

So, I began with what I knew, I knew 3 things. One the killer is not slowing down. Second the victims are of both races (human and supernatural). Finally, third the victims are one boy and one girl never two of the same sex. I had concluded that if this killer is not stopped then the supernatural world will be exposed to the humans. If this happens then there is going to be a serious problem, the supernatural world has only survived this long because the humans are oblivious to what goes on in the shadows. So, trying to figure out the solution to catch or kill this person or persons quickly is very important. I am on a short time frame for this last case of mine. I never wanted to go back to being a cop, because I enjoyed the life that I currently have. I just wanted to enjoy being pregnant with my mate and envision what the future would hold for us.
