I walked into the station and continued my day like nothing ever happened yesterday. The only issue was that if Captain Ella found out I was dating the main suspect she would have my job on a silver platter. So, I kept what Alaric and I had done a secret but know I must figure out how to get rid of these guards around me. He has the police officers that are part of our pack watching and protecting me at work. So, I guess I do not have to be alone anymore right. Now when I am with Alaric or even Alexander, his beta, I do not need the guards around. Alaric trusts Alex and so do I, I mean like I would not trust him with my life if my mate did not.

Every time I think of our date, I think about the question he asked me at the end of it. "My love there is nothing that will keep me away from you and your past. In other words, yes, I will be by your side through everything. I have only one condition though, move in with me at my home so I can protect you from your past with the strength of the pack. Please consider this for more protection and you will get to see me every day." After work, I will give him the answer that I have brewing in my head. Everything changed in that instant when my old Alpha came into the station and right up to my desk. Before I even looked up, I recognized the scent but had to act natural in front of the humans in the station.

I looked up calmly and said, "Hello sir, how can I help you today." He simply just said "Can we go outside to talk, please. This is a private matter that we must discuss."

I sighed and said "Sir, we have a conference room right over there that we can talk in, but we are not going outside. We will not have interruptions in there. Besides, that will have to do for me. If you want to talk outside of the station you would have to go to Alaric for that. Is that ok with you big brother?" He just nodded his head and said, "That's fine just call off your guards please sister." I shook my head 'no' and we walked right into the conference room with the guards following me. I gave them all a look that said stay close, but they kept their distance. They understood perfectly that their soon-to-be Luna was in distress and might need help. I think they were more scared of Alaric being upset that I might have been hurt than them not doing their jobs. I forgot that Alaric also had my partner changed for my protection as well. I was incredibly grateful for that because my human partner was sticking her nose into stuff she was not supposed to, but she was still on the case. Being my partner any longer and she would have found out what I am.

As my old alpha and I were talking in the conference room and once the door was closed, he did not hold back. "Anna, little sister we have had a hard time finding you. The trackers are not as good as you are. Now, here is why I came to you today as your big brother and not as your old alpha. I need to know what happened before you ran away from the pack. That does not mean what you told Alaric either. Before you get mad at him, he had plugged two and two together on who your brother was. Mainly because the story reminded him of something, he had heard to a pack nearby." I sighed and answered my brother "Well first off John you have no right to be here in Washington where the pack is in Oregon. The guys outside the door are guards that are signed to my protection by my mate. I am not the only one you should be talking to about the matter of the rouges that killed Angelia and your unborn child. It is your so-called beta that let them through the border and the one who had betrayed you. Now John if you do not mind, I must get back to work. By the way, he was the only other one you didn't kill on your rampage."

I left the conference room rattled and told the guards to call Alaric to the parking garage. They nodded their heads and before I could go home, I had to finish interrogating the rest of the suspects for the case that was going cold fast. My partner that Alaric had assigned to me is becoming worried about me I can see it in his eyes. Since the case was going cold, I sort of stopped eating and I have heavy bags under my eyes. It has been months since I took this case and every lead, we got leads that would have exposed the supernatural world to humans. I guess my condition has been told to Alaric and the only reason no one noticed is that I have been wearing makeup. Now when I am home Alaric watches me like a hawk making sure I eat and that I sleep. Since I have accepted his proposal to move in with him, he has become overprotective of me especially since I am working on a murder case with our biggest rival.
