"Well that could've gone better"

This was the part of Thanksgiving that Cassie's been looking forward to since November 1st. It was the only dinner of the day that actually mattered to her. When they walked in Cassie had a big smile on her face, all of the weirdness from earlier suddenly didn't exist.

"Hey everybody," Lorelai smiled too as they greeted the regulars who went to Luke's every year for Thanksgiving.

"Oh, hey there dollfaces," Babette smiled at the girls as soon as she spotted them. "Happy Thanksgiving."

"Yeah, Happy Thanksgiving," Morey added between bites of pie.

"Hey" Rory handed Luke a bouquet of flowers the second he walked over to them.

Luke took the bouquet, and like every year, he inspected them with annoyed curiosity. "What's this?"

"Flowers," Cassie reminded him for probably the fifth time in her life.

"What do I do with them?"

"Ugh," Lorelai let out a groan, already knowing what was about to happen. "Not this again."

Rory smiled at them, "Put them in a vase with water."

"I don't have a vase."

Another groan left Lorelai's mouth as she shook her head at the diner owner, "You do this every year," she reminded him.

"I don't have vases."

"Buy a vase," She said to him.

"But I don't need a vase cause I never flowers," Luke countered.

"Except when we bring you flowers every year on Thanksgiving. Buy a vase," Lorelai shook her head.

"Stop bringing me flowers," Luke and Lorelai said at the exact same time, causing the twins to laugh at them.

Lorelai pointed a finger at him, "I knew you were gonna say that because you say the same thing. We have this exact same conversation every year."

"And every year you point that out."

"And every year you point that out," She repeated.

"And then every year we put the flowers on the counter and forget the ugliness happened until next year," Cassie reminded them.

Lorelai sighed, trying to hide the smile on her face, "Well, at least we have a tradition."

"Good," Luke nodded his head, being slightly less discrete with his smile, "I'll be right back. That's our table over there," he pointed and the girls started walking over, only stopping when they notice Kirk.
