A week later

21.47 hrs 

Location: Lewes

Honestly, I expected tonight to be nothing more special than the days before. Fight the bad guys for money, stay hidden, and run away with little to no injury, laughing at the idiots. 

I heard a few voices arising from the dead end in the alley and I proceeded to walk towards it. They were having a decent conversation instead of fighting, something rare in these streets. I got down from the solid disc I had created and it vanished into thin air, literally, as I started walking with light steps.

When I peeked around the corner, I saw something I shouldn't have. I didn't know that till much later. 

There was a little girl dressed in a black full-sleeved hoodie and a white mask designed like a kawaii cat, and another green-haired lady.

What the heck? 

Is that little kid going around the streets playing Superhero or something? 

What are children these days even thinking? 

The girl looked almost a head shorter than me but the way she was standing, posing by leaning on the wall with her crossed and talking with the green-haired lady in a calm demeanour- that she looked much older than I thought her to be. 

There was some familiarity about the light pink hair that was peeking from beneath the hat she was wearing but I thought I was confusing it with something else. I swept the area with my eyes and when I didn't see any of what I was looking for (a bag of money, that is) I started walking back the way I came from. 

It was time to look somewhere else.

"ARHHHHHH!"

A high-pitched sound rang through the air and I stopped walking.
