Alisha's Pov

It is happening. I'm getting married. And in just less than a month.

A surreal feeling washed over me. I knew everyone gets married at some point, but I hadn't expected it for myself. There were moments, of course, when I thought maybe, just maybe, marriage would be in the cards – an arranged marriage, most likely. But oh, how the divine works in mysterious ways! Here I was, not just getting married, but embarking on a love marriage! Bhagwan ji , you really do play some fantastic games, don't you? Marrying someone who swore off marriage altogether – and a love marriage at that!

My musing was interrupted by a knock on the door. It was still quite early for anyone to be awake, making the whole scene rather amusing. Six in the morning? Aaradhya? Now that was a sight to behold. That girl wouldn't wake up even if a rock concert was happening inside her eardrums. Sleep was her best friend, and she clung to it fiercely.

"Come in," I called out, allowing her...

Aaradhya, looking like a zombie risen from the dead. "Ash," she mumbled, "tere ko uthana bheje tha masi ne par chal acha hai tu uth gayi toh abchal fresh ho ja ready bhi hona hai tujhe niche puja hai tuhjhe baithna hai actually tujhe baithna kya hai tujhe hei puja karni hai" she rattles off in a rush

My brows furrowed as I looked at her, completely bewildered by her words. What puja was she talking about?

"are aj barni bandhegi na toh uski puja hai re chal uthh  naaaa  fresh ho" she said impatiently.

I chuckled at her usual pushiness. "main fresh ho chuki hun chal chaltein hein."

"oyee aise?" she scoffed. "You need to perform the puja. Wear proper clothes, Ash!"

"mere kapde thik toh hai yaarrr," I protested, gesturing to myself.

I was dressed in a beautiful bandhej print kurti with a white churidar and i had paired them withsilver jewelleries I felt quite decent.

"Behen !!! saari pehen jaa !!!" she exclaimed with mock frustration.

"hume pehni nahi aati saari aur na apko atti hai ab ?" I countered, raising an eyebrow playfully.

Our playful banter was cut short by another knock on the door. This time, it was Masi sa and Maa. They entered the room carrying a stunning sari in a vibrant Kesariya colur with delicate yellow embroidery.

"chaliye aj hum apko sari pehnate hei"  Masi sa declared with a smile.

And within twenty minutes, I was transformed. Draped in the beautiful sari, a heavy gold earring adorned each ear, and my eyes lined with kohl, I truly looked captivating.

"are inka gala khali khali sa lag reha hai, " Masi sa observed. "inke gale me pehenane ke liye arti apne kuch mangwaya nahi?"

Maa, without missing a beat, took her own gold chain and asked me to sit. With a small smile and glistening eyes, she gently placed the chain around my neck. It was clear seeing me get married was taking an emotional toll on her too. We had just started spending more quality time together, and now I was preparing to leave again.

I turned from the dressing table and engulfed her in a tight hug. Tears welled up in my eyes, catching me by surprise. This was the first time I had cried in front of her. And seeing my tears, her own eyes welled up, which she tried hard to hold back.

After a few minutes of holding each other, she cleared her throat, wiping away a stray tear and placing a soft forehead kiss she said  "chalo chalo niche chalo kashi pandit ji aa gayein hein"
