"And for this year's Miss Cebu National High School..."

I showed a smile in a calm manner towards the grade 11th student across me. It's the time of the year again, tonight I'm very sure of one thing. Magiging akin ang Corona.

Bata palang ako sumasali na ako sa mga pageants. At first I'm not really fond of this competitions pero lagi akong pinipilit ni mama na sumali hanggang sa nagustuhan ko yung feeling na manalo. It made me feel empowered. Tumaas yung confidence ko and it made me want to do more things.

Kahit na nasa grade 8 palang ako ngayon isinalang ako para makipag compete for Miss CNHS. I am confident na manalo despite the gaps in age. I don't mind though because I trust my capabilities. I study hard and earn flying colors each year. Ganon ako, not forced by my parents but I'm really inlove with winning, inlove when I know where I'm going.

Gusto ko kalkulado ko lahat. I'm not perfect and I am not trying to, but I don't want to make mistakes.

Napa tingala ako ng bigla kong narinig ang malakas na pagsigaw ng aking pangalan.

"CONGRATULATIONS MISS MARIAH QUEEN ARCETA! "

Napakalawak na ngiti ang ginawad ko sabay hawak sa akong dibdib. I looked at my mom and dad with my Kuya whose walking towards me. Nagpasalamat ako sa nagbigay ng bouquet at nagsuot ng sash sa akin.

"Congratulations, nak" I heard mommy saying that while trying to help with my crown. I smiled at her and kay papa at kuya na nakangiti nang sobrang proud sa akin.

"You never disappoint, Aiah" Daddy said.

"Ang galing galing mo bunso" Napangiti nalang ako sa kanila. After the coronation dumagsa ang mga kaklase ko para makipag picture at mag congratulate. I was too happy kaya hinayaan ko na.

I always love winning kase alam ko na kaya ko. I can accept defeat because I know that it will lead me to the betterness of myself. I'm open with every outcomes but I'll always be vocal that I love winning, who doesn't love winning right?

And that's me, the Aiah Arceta.
