MISCALCULATED [MikhAiah]

Chapter 1

"Mauna ka na sa Lib" Napa angat ako ng tingin kay Jho na napa buntong hininga habang naka titig sa kanyang cellphone. I guess something came up with her President duties again.

"Bakit?" Tanong ko naman habang nag liligpit ng mga gamit.

"May nakita daw ang mga teachers na may nagsusugal sa likod ng gym. Di lang yun, nag iinuman pa daw. Kainis."

As usual. I could bet my life na kilala ko kung sino na naman ang pasimuno nito. Araw-araw ba namang may record sa guidance, kung hindi lang to anak ni Mayor matagal nang nakick out yun sa school.

"Eh bat ikaw lang pinatawag? Hello, VP din po ako" I said in a matter of fact tone. Me and Jhoanna are the University's Pres and Vice Pres.

"Kasi naman ikaw ipapalaban sa kabilang school for the quiz bee kaya need mo talagang mag aral with no distractions" sabay irap niya. Napangisi ako saka binalingan si Maloi na nag aayos din ng mga gamit.

"Jho, tara na!" Aniya na parang nagmamadali. So they're really serious of excluding me for this kind of duty kasi... okay understandable coz this is for the sake of our school but I sought to do my best in my position.

"Sama ako" I said with finality. Jhoanna and Maloi looked at eachother tila ba nag uusap gamit ang mata. I pouted.

"Don't worry girls, I can study at home. " Maloi sighed and shrugged her shoulders off indicating that I can go with them.

"Kaya siguro madalas nagbubulakbol yun kasi sumasama ka sa pag dakip eh" Maloi said while her voice is slowly toning down na halos hindi ko na marinig. Well, I did not entirely get what she's trying to imply.

Tumawa si Jhoanna kaya napataas ang kilay ko.

"Ano?" I asked nang magkasalubong kami sa pinto. Ngumiti si Maloi saka umiling.

"Wala. Sabi ko ang ganda mo"

Tumawa kaming tatlo saka na lumabas sa classroom. I'm now a 2nd year college student, majoring Architecture with Maloi and Jhoanna.

Supposedly, Ako dapat yung magpapatakbo as President but Jhoanna and Maloi encourage me not to. It takes so much responsibilities and given that DL ako at ako lagi ang pambato ng School when it comes to Academic and Pageantry competitions baka hindi ko na magampanan ng maayos pag naging President pa ako.

I settled for that because I clearly understand their point.

Last year, sumali ako for Miss West Cebu University, hindi dapat ako sasali kasi masyado pang maaga, I was a freshman and I needed to adapt first. Pero masyadong desidido mga classmates and profs namin kaya wala akong nagawa. Gladly, I won. Mas lalong namangha ang halos lahat sa akin.

Ngayon, aside from Acads and pageantry, I tried modeling. Nagkakaroon ako ng stint for runways and other times magazines. Even tho ilang beses na akong kinumbinsi ni Mam Rica to be her regular model hindi ko nagawang paunlakan. I prioritize my study. Period.

We went to the faculty room first to call other SA for help. After quick briefing with out Dean we headed out papuntang gym. Dito palang naririnig ko na ang malakas na hiyawan at tawanan mula sa mga estudyanteng nagbubulakbol sa likod ng gym. Gosh, from all places bakit kung saan madali silang mahagip?

"HALA! ANDITO NA SILA!" Rinig kong sigaw ng isa sa kanila. My eyes quickly darted to the red haired girl na may bandana sa buhok, may hawak na alak na iinumin sana kaso bigla kaming dumating. Ang iba sa kanila ay agad na tumakbo habang ang iba naman ay mabilis na nahagip.

"Even if you start running you couldn't get away from another punishment, Miss Lim!" I said with firm and cold tone. Her eyes bore into me, she looks bored as she drop the bottle of I don't know what kind of liqour it is.

"I'm not even planning to, Miss Arceta" She smirked and without being demanded, she raised her both hands while walking towards me.

"Pag sayo susuko agad ako" and then she winked at me.

And she thinks she looks cool? Narinig ko namang naghiyawan ang mga kasama niya habang mahinang tumatawa sina Jho at Maloi.

"Great. Coz I won't really let you get away this time. "

She just smiled, she pushed her hands forward making me look confused.

"What?" I asked.

Ngumuso siya saka napatingin sa ibang kasamahan na hinahawakan ng mahigpit ng mga kasama ko.

"Hindi mo man lang ba ako hihigitin katulad ng ginagawa ng mga kasama mo?"

Napatingin ako sa babaeng humagalpak sa tawa. I know her at halos hindi ako makapaniwala.

"SHEENA?!" I exclaimed. Bakit kasama siya dito?

"Sorry ate!" Sabay peace sign niya sa akin. Umirap ako saka bumaling agad sa babaeng kaharap ko.

"Why would I do that? " I asked her. She still have that amused smile.

"Because maybe I'll run away?" I showed her a sarcastic smile because she's not being funny she is...so annoying.

"Your parents are coming in 15 minutes, if you still have the guts to run away then go." I said firmly and I feel so proud when I saw her smile instantly vanished.

Tinalikuran ko na siya at agad na kaming naglakad papuntang faculty. When I entered the room agad ko nang nakita Si Mayor and his wife.

"GOD, MIKHA LIM!" her mom said in a frustrated tone. I watch as Mikha stood there with nothing in her eyes. How could she not react? Alam kong sanay siya sa ganito but kahit konting guilt man lang ay hindi niya maipakita?

She's heartless.

"Please, as much as possible sana wala ng iba pang makaka-alam. We will—" ...donate this and that... I rolled my eyes.

"I'm sorry po but nothing will be resolved if we keep on covering her up. She needs to lear by giving her punishments" I said. Napatingin sakin ang mag asawa, I couldn't exactly fathom the way they look at me. Others will get intimidated but not me. I know what I'm doing.

"What do you suggest, Hija?" Mrs Lim asked tila ba hinahamon ako. I smiled politely.

"We couldn't count how many times she have broken the rules, how many times she started fighting with other students and if we sum it all up she deserves to be kicked out"

Sa sobrang talim nang titig sakin kulang nalang itusok ito sakin. But I wasn't fazed.

"Miss Arceta, please mind you words" I glance at Mr Frederick Lim, I smiled at him.

"I hope you are aware of the damage she causes. Pati si Sheena na minor hinahayaan niyang sumama at uminom. Mayor, Mrs Lim, I suggest you let Mikha handle the situation and punishments instead of covering her up for donations and such... Let her learn and reflect."

I heard a small clap from my friends and even a proud smile from all the faculties especially our Dean. Nakita yun ng mag asawa kaya tila ba parang wala na silang magawa.

I turn towards Mikha, and I was a little shocked when I saw her looking back at me.

But she instantly looked away.

"Alright. I'll let you decide for whatever punishment you think she deserves." I smiled.

I will really make sure she learn.
