Vero jumped in his room through his open window then took off his goggles and mask. “I’m done. I never asked for these powers. I never asked to see spirits. I never asked to be a devil. I never asked for anything except to have a normal life with my friends and my grandpa. The vigilante’s days are over. It’s back to my old life again. What the hell was I thinking when I started doing this?!” Vero stated then glanced at his desk were the photo portraits of him, his friends and grandpa.

"I'm stopping this whole charade. I don't even know what made me decide to do the hero gig or what made me see it as a good idea. Clearly I don't have a good reason to be one. I was just being a big fool." Vero threw his top on the floor.

"Meow."

"I'm not choosing to stop because I'm afraid or anything like that. I'm stopping because everyone will be better off not having a crazy, reckless teenager playing hero. I'll let this job be handled by the police. I think it’s better I stick to be being white hair Vero who everyone wants a piece of. No more heroin for me." Vero concluded while tossing his suit under the bed.

"Meow." The little cat jumped on down on the floor, paced at the door then beckoned Vero to follow him, standing by the entrance.

"What is it now? Don't tell me you're already hungry and want another bottle of milk." The cat didn't reply, instead it continued pacing through the corridor and stopped halfway across the stairs. Vero arrived shortly after and was about to scold her for leading him down her for nothing but stopped when the TV caught his attention.

The TV displayed a neatly dressed woman holding a microphone, no doubt she was a reporter. "Several suspects are now in custody but one still remains at large after a dramatic incident at a construction site near the empire state building. We now go live for a exclusive interview with NY chief of the NYPD."

The camera rolled to show the chief of the NYPD. "This is an ongoing investigation."

"So no comment, sir?"

"This is an ongoing investigation, that is my comment."

"Can you please give us an explanation as to why the HK gang would attack construction workers in broad daylight like that."

"From what we managed to gather, that construction site was actually an criminal front thats owned by a small time mob boss who's currently locked up. Guess the HK members wanted to take over and claim ownership without anyone noticing."

The TV changed to display one of the pedestrians who were there during the Empire State problem. "Oh my God it was so awesome. My heart was racing when I thought the building would collapse on top of me!"

"I nearly fell to my death but thank God the vigilante caught me when he did."

"We owe him our life. We wouldn't be standing here if it were not for him."

"We were a part of history baby!"

"I'm still shaking from what happened. I can't keep my body still."

"The guy saved my kid. My pride and joy, I'm in his debt. Sir? If you're watching this, thank you so much."

"It was awesome. The dude was all over the place forming some kind of web net around the building to keep it stable. Then he jumped through it to keep people from falling then started pulling it back again. Seriously this thing weighs like 3.500 tons! It was awesome!"

"He's a freaking action superhero. Dope skills."

Vero couldn't believe it. People were actually thanking him for what he did? They were actually glad he was around that time. So the people didn't want him but they needed him.
