The young hero took his time, cruising around the city in the night. There was no hurry; he knew what he needed to do. He took his time, bracing himself for the showdown. With his last swing, Vero jumped on top of a rooftop building. It was already past midnight by now. If he moved fast enough, and was lucky, he could get Benjamin King before morning. The building Vero was currently taking his time strolling across was not that far from Kingdom Come Records. Actually the building was practically next to KCR building just across the street. It wasn't as tall as the building, heck, it wasn't even half as tall, more like a small quarter.

He stood by the thin edge and crouched down to examine the situation. "Shit," swore Vero when he saw the situation from a higher view.

About a hundred well-dressed criminals occupied the main business floor. They sat in the expensive-looking sofas, drinking wine, beer, or water for some, others in a gambling section of the building enjoying their time. Some of the floors had their curtains blocking the view from outsiders, but Vero could easily spot the shadowy figures of them. By Vero’s understanding, in some of the rooms, people seemed to have collapsed on their beds from having too much fun, others were chatting with girls in their rooms, another puzzled him which was of two shadowy figures on bed, one was lying on the bed, the other, the female based on her hourglass shape, sitting on top, her body switching movement from back and forth to up and down. What the heck was that? He pushed the thought out of his mind.

Out of my hands, no point in worrying about it.

As much as he wanted to jump down and beat up every single one of them while climbing the tower, Vero desisted. He had a mission to do, and he couldn't get caught up in the building or get lost. He had to reach King as fast as possible.

The only problem now was to get around the army of criminals in the building. There was no available balcony or ladder to climb up, so the only option was to scale up the wall to the top floor like any creature would.

With his mind made up, the young man leaped across the street and adhered to the opposite skyscraper, avoiding the rooms that had moving shadows just in case while ascending upwards. There was no fear. The building was just as tall as the Empire State Building, 50 stories tall. At the very top, built in pure gold was a gold cross in the center with a large crown surrounding it?

Vero could not help but stop and glance at the Empire State Building. In the distance, he could easily see the building, miraculously holding, thanks to the wide web keeping it stationed like a gigantic fish net.

“I just hope they’ll hold until it’s repaired. I heard they’ve already started working on repairing it.” Murmured Vero. Once he reached the top floors, he quietly snuck in using an air vent. It was time. A newbie hero against a Kingpin.

The room Vero in was wide and didn’t have much in it. Although, it was built with impressive architecture and mostly marble material. To Vero, it felt like a spare floor room to serve a decoration, the kind only made to impressive visitors or maintain large crowds.

“A citizen currently residing in Chinatown, Vero D. Yeager… Adopted at a very young age after being discovered in an alleyway of Chinatown. Fifteen year old high school student in Brooklyn High, average grades, extraordinary high counts of battles. Distinctive feature: white hair.” Someone with a male voice spoke from the shadows while slowly making his way to the center of the room. “Heh, you are quite a nostalgic individual.”

When the man stood stepped out of the shadows, Vero immediately recognized him. “Finally, a face I recognize. Charon, was it?”

“Charon.”  He introduced himself. “And yes, this isn’t our first meeting as you can remember. This is actually the second time.”
