(Disclaimer: this one is pretty long)

Batman sat on the edge of the roof, sighing as he looked over Gotham City. he was alone, which was fine. He was used to being alone. Tim was away with the Teen Titans and Dick and Jason were on a separate mission together. That just left Bruce.

And yes, maybe he did miss a certain Man of Steel but he couldn't let that distract him. Not even his smile and the way he laughs and the way he makes life seem easy and simple.

Even if he was floating right next to him.

Wait.

Bruce jumped back, startled out of his thoughts. "Hey, Bats." Superman smiled. "Long time no see."

Bruce blinked, trying to decipher if this was a dream or a hallucination. "I need to go to bed, I'm seeing things." Batman muttered. He hadn't been sleeping as well as he used to. He didn't want to admit it, but he slept better with Clark at his side, even if they had only shared a bed five times.

Suddenly he felt Clarks hand on his shoulder. "I'm here, Bruce." He smiled and oh my god Bruce felt fireworks. Clark was really there, actually standing in front of him. Suddenly, all he wanted to do was run into those strong arms and kiss-

What was he thinking?

"Superman," Bruce growled. "Maybe you should have stayed away longer so I would have actually missed you." Ouch. He fought the urge to wince at his words. That may have been a bit too harsh.

But Superman laughed anyway. "Still the same old Bats, I see." He lowered slightly. "I missed you and the others. I saw Diana on the way, but I knew I'd find you here."

"Hm," Batman looked back over the city. "Maybe you should go back to her."

"Bats," Clark shook his head. "When will you ever be tired of pushing me away?"

"I'm not- that's not-" Bruce took a breath. "I'm not pushing you away. I'm trying to watch over my city and you're being distracting."

Clark crossed his arms. "You haven't seen me in almost a year, Bruce. And you won't even talk to me? You're not curious about my life at all?"

"No."

"That hurts, Bruce."

"Well, maybe you should have thought about that before you walked out on us." On me. He thought. You walked out on me.

Clark opened his mouth, but whatever he was going to say he decided against it. Bruce scoffed and turned away. "That's what I thought." he snarled. "Go back to Metropolis and Lois."

"Me and Lois got a divorce."

Bruce spun around, shock crossing his face. "What?"

"We got a divorce." Clark looked a little sad, but not devastated, "After our son was born-"

"You have a son?"

Clark's face lit up. "Oh yeah! I didn't tell you guys about him. Yeah, we have a son. His Name is Jonathan. He's really cute, I should show you the pictures."

Bruce raised an eyebrow. "So, you came to gloat about your son and to talk? Yeah, I'm done with this conversation."

"Bruce, no." Clark put his hand BACK onto Bruce's shoulder. "I came back for another reason." he looked so deeply into Bruce's eyes that it made Bruce's heart speed up a little. Damn it. Bruce tried to steady his heartbeat, mentally cursing Clark's super hearing.

"Why did you come back?" Bruce said, coldly. Mayne that will disguise his heartbeat.

"I came back for you."
