The Tangled Hearts: A Forbidden Romance

Pool Day!

It was the end of the day. The sun was shining bright on the school and the clouds were no where to be seen.

I texted Alejandro to let him know that I was going home with my friend in which he responded with "Ok. I'm going out with friends."
I put a thumbs up on the message while pushing the front doors of the school open.

I walk out of the school and see Maddie in her car on her phone. I walk to the passenger side and get into the car.

"Oh hey Yesi!" she says putting her phone down quickly. She greets me with a wide smile. Before putting her keys into her car, starting it. "Hey Maddie." I smile at her and buckle my seatbelt as she drives away from the university. She pulls out her phone and begins her playlist. Her playlist consists of Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and other pop artists I don't remember the name of. She is singing at the top of her lungs, hitting every note and every word perfectly.

The whole car ride was of Maddie singing. I joined in for a couple of songs that I knew but it was all her.

We pull into the driveway of my apartment complex. Maddie's car was an SUV and the driveway was really tight so she had to pay close attention and go slow which made her finally stop singing.

We pull into the parking lot and get out of the car. I look towards Maddie and she looks kind of nervous for some reason.

"Hey Yesenia, is any of your siblings here by chance? Just wondering." She raises an eyebrow and walks around the car to meet me in the middle. We start to walk to my apartment door. "My sister should be getting dropped off by the bus soon and my brother is out with friends. They should both be back later." I shrug and walk in front of her to lead the way.

"Here we are." I say unlocking the door and walking in with Maddie. As we walk in I turn around to her and open my arms to present my apartment to her. "Wow this is so modern, I love it." She smiles at me.

We walk into my room and I set my things down as she sets her things down next to mine. I pat on my bed gesturing for her to sit next to me. I take my shoes off and put my feet on my bed. I was honestly glad she came. This could be fun.

"So what are we doing first?" She claps her hands together while she plops on my bed. "Well we could watch tv, we could play card games, or we could go swimming if you want. You could borrow a swimsuit of mine." I suggest to her and her face lights up as soon as I mention swimming. "Oh my God, yes let's go swimming!" She squeals before sranding up and pulling my arms for me to stand up.

We put on the swimsuits that I pulled out for us. I was wearing a green two piece and Maddie was wearing a purple bikini with sunflowes that I had. I haven't went to the apartment pool in forever, but it was huge.

"Okay so fair warning before we go, there is always those slimy little kids who touch your feet at the bottom of the pool and they will stare at your tits for no reason." I laugh while we walk to the community pool. "Oh trust me I know little kids. I have a little brother and a sister who are both 7. They are wild twins, Jayden and Jazmine." She smiles widely to herself as she brings up their names. "Yea well, they are children." We laugh together as we walk on the long sidewalk trail that leads to the pool. Maybe this friendship can be good for me to get my mind off of things.

As we enter the gates to the pool I notice a lifeguard sitting on the really tall chair right beside the pool whistling at someone. "HEY! KNOCK IT OFF!! PUT THE FLOATIE DOWN!" He screams out at the little boy. The little boy begins giggling and running off. The lifeguard scoffs and leans back in his chair.
