Kuroo woke you up, his voice a chilling whisper in your ear.
"Wake up, kitty," he shook you lightly, "I have a surprise for you."

Your eyes opened slowly, revealing no emotion. You stared at him blankly, the spark of curiosity in your heart almost drowned by fear. You had learned to dread his surprises, each one more twisted than the last. Yet, despite your exhaustion and terror, a faint glimmer of wonder tightened your heart.

Kuroo grinned. He offered you his hand, and you took it reluctantly, feeling the roughness of his skin against your own. He hoisted you up with surprising gentleness, almost as if he were handling something fragile. Your legs wobbled beneath you, weak and unaccustomed to even the simplest movements. Besides, the pain from the previous night still throbbed in your muscles.

He led you down the stairs, his grip firm but not painful. Each step was an agony, your body screaming in protest.
You winced with each movement, but Kuroo seemed oblivious to your pain, or perhaps he simply didn't care. He paused occasionally, looking back to ensure you were still following, his eyes glinting with a sadistic pleasure.

When you finally reached the bottom of the stairs, you were panting, each breath a struggle. Kuroo turned to you, his smile widening.
"Almost there, kitten," he said, his voice dripping with false sweetness.

As you stepped foot in the cold living room floor, you caught a glimpse of a dark head of hair crouched on the ground. Your heartbeat thumped in your ears, skipping a beat when you finally realized that the defenseless figure was Iwaizumi's.

You harshly yanked your hand out of Kuroo's, rushing clumsily in Iwa's direction. Your legs gave out before you could get close enough to him though, and you crashed painfully on the pavement. However, determination set your limbs on fire, so you still managed to crawl quickly towards Hajime.
Your hand trembled violently as you inched it closer to his face, unable to believe the warm breath that caressed your fingertips.

"Iwa?"
You shook his shoulder lightly, gently waking him up from a troubled slumber, induced by the residue of sedative circulating in his system.

Kuroo watched from afar, his blood boiling slowly as it coursed through his veins. He waited patiently, watched the events unfold under his attentive and hateful gaze - he was in no rush, however; he was going to take his sweet time later, so there was no need to go insane over your little interaction with Iwaizumi.

"Hajime, please wake up."
Your hand slid down his arm, searching to intertwine with his fingers as you called his name.
His eyelids slowly hatched, skimming through the living room until they met your face; his eyes widened once he fully realized the reality of the image in front of him.

"(Y/n)?"
He desperately attempted to get up, using your hand as a lever to push himself up.

You held his shoulders, helping him position himself more comfortably with a relieved smile stamped on your face.
Still in shock, you chuckled limpidly as you cupped his face between your hands, tears uncontrollably streaming down your wan cheeks. The reality was yet to sink in, your mind didn't go as far as asking what Iwaizumi was doing there.

"I missed you so much, Iwa. So much. I can't believe I can finally see you again."
You hugged him as tightly as you could, your arms quivering around the boy's figure. Kuroo was a distant memory, although his figure leaned against the wall just a few meters from of you.
Iwaizumi's presence gave the fleeting impression that everything was going to be fine - you felt safe, completely detached from the absurd reality of the cabin that you had been caged in.

Iwaizumi, however, didn't have the luxury of a reassuring presence. His eyes locked with Kuroo's, whose face contorted in a sly smirk.
He closed his eyes momentarily, savoring the feeling of your embrace against his body - it was different than how he remembered: you were weak, shaky. You felt fragile like crystal.
