Kuroo tapped on his chin as he selected what clothes to stuff in the duffle bag. He'd already gotten a couple comfortable shirts and trousers, and even a few fancy dresses.
His eyes skimmed through the fabrics, mentally checking items off of his list; his eyebrows shot up as he finally realized what was missing, and with a giddy chuckle, he collected all of your more sexy lingerie - you had hidden them in a separate drawer under your summer clothes, so that your mother couldn't find them. The soft fabrics slid on his fingertips like water, so soft and silky that he couldn't help but take a deep whiff from them before carefully folding them into the bag.
Kuroo looked around your now bare room, melancholic as he realized that would be the last time he would come to it during his sleepless nights. He was still grateful, however: his stomach churned at the sight of your bed, which in his eyes was still impregnated with the painful memories of the dreadful evening you'd spent with Iwaizumi. But Kuroo was determined to bury your past, put it all behind himself - your life was about to change forever.
He closed the door of your room for the last time, smiling cheesily to himself as he headed for the kitchen and made his way through the broken window, like he'd done so many times in the past months. He warmly wondered if he should have fixed it, being that now his mother-in-law would be all alone, and probably afraid.
With that in mind, he took a better look at it, searching for the source of the malfunction. Once he found it, he made sure to improvise a temporary solution.
He threw the duffle bag in the car trunk, and he sat to patiently wait for you, his fingers tapping out a nursery rhyme on the steering wheel. In the rearview mirror, the reflection of his sinister eyes met his gaze, a wicked smirk playing on his lips as he groomed his disheveled hair. Everything was coming together perfectly. You were hours away from being finally only his.
His eyes glinted with joy as he caught a glimpse of your figure walking down the road. He swiftly got out of the car, his movements so fluid the resembled a cat's - even in the way he perched on the car's hood while he carefully watched you approach.
The crisp air of the evening hung around you as you approached your house, your thoughts consumed by the day's routine. However, your attention was soon stolen by the peculiar sight of a dented red car, parked right in your driveway.
"Kuroo?" you uttered, bewildered. It had been weeks since you last saw him. Nobody could reach out him anymore, and you didn't really have the time to pay him a visit. Moreover, you'd overheard Kenma defeatedly declare that despite his best efforts, Kuroo was completely ignoring him - so there was certainly no way he was going to let you in his house.
But now, there he stood, a tired smile playing on his lips.
"Hey," he greeted, rubbing the back of his neck, "Long time no see."
"Ya think?" you chortled, running towards him with your arms open, ready to welcome him back with a warm hug. "What happened to you?"
"Eh, I've been taking care of my mom. She hasn't been doing too well in the last few weeks. Have you seen my car though?" He declared proudly, banging on the hood a couple of times, "It's cool, right?"
Concern etched across your face as he shared the news, and you totally ignored the last part. "I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Is she feeling better now?"
He nodded absently, assuring you that he had it all under control.
"Actually," he said, eyes glittering with a hint of mischief, "I've missed you. How about we catch up? I'm free today."
A genuine smile appeared on your face at the thought of spending time with him again. "Yes, absolutely! Let me just get changed and I'll be back in a second."
