What if: Shadow Frontiers

Corruption problem

They arrive at Reah island , 6 towers can be seen in the background. Near the first one, teleportation can be seen as Sonic and Shadow land. The Chaos Emeralds then scatter around the island again, and Shadow transforms back. However, Sonic is less able to fight, his right arm has become completely infected, which is already affecting his stamina.

Shadow: Sonic. )He glances at his rival, quickly realizes what is happening to him.) This energy destroys you from the inside. Hmph! Isn't this adventure too much for you? Don't worry, I can handle the last one without you. (He smiles mockingly.)

Sonic: Heh. What do you mean? You won't shake me off that easily. (He tries to make up for his disadvantage.) Only these six towers stand between the guys' freedom, I can't stop now.

Shadow: Huh? 6? (He looks around and notices the other 5.) Did the "voice tell you this too?"

As Shadow collects the gears, he observes Sonic's worsening condition. He notices that after each tower, he moves slower and harder. He can barely stand on his own two feet. As Spindash wanted to jump into shape for the last one, he can no longer do it, so he falls down in front of the sixth tower, not reaching the top.

Sonic: AHHH! (He hopes he survives, he's lucky Shadow catches him.)
