Two years later
"Mama." Avery mumbled, slowly waddling over to Lucy who was coming in the door of what was now her and Kate's apartment.
"Hey Pumpkin." Lucy said, closing the front door and kicking off her shoes.
The little girl held her arms up, signaling she wanted to be held. "Mama." She repeated.
Lucy put down her bag and lifted the little girl up.
Avery instantly curled into Lucy, laying her head on her shoulder. The little girl was extremely fond of Lucy and often times cried when Lucy had to leave for work.
"Did you have a good day?" Lucy asked softly.
Shaking her head, Avery gripped onto Lucy's shirt.
"She had a rough morning after you left for work." Kate said softly, stepping up to kiss Lucy gently. "The sitter called to tell me that Avery cried for three hours after you left."
"Three hours!" Lucy's eyes went wide.
Nodding her head, Kate looked down at the little girl who was already falling asleep. "She didn't even cry that long when I left, Lilah said she didn't even cry when Kai left.'' The blonde had an amused smile on her lips as she looked back up at her girlfriend. "In fact, Lilah is still convinced that you gave birth to Avery or somehow got me pregnant."
Lucy chuckled and shook her head. "That's crazy."
Humming softly, Kate leaned down and kissed Lucy again. "That's what I said... Now, why don't you put her to bed and come join me for some adult time?" She whispered, her eyes dark with desire.
"Am I allowed to have dinner first?" Lucy asked, raising her eyebrow.
Tilting her head to the side, Kate offered Lucy a teasing smile. "Only if you have me for dessert." She whispered.
Lucy chuckled and shook her head. "God, someone's 'excited'." She teased.
The blonde smirked and stepped closer. "After watching you take down that guy today... of course I'm excited."
Lucy chuckled again and shook her head. "I just got home. I need to shower and eat."
"Then you better hurry up." Kate breathed out, carefully taking Avery and making her way to the little girl's room.
Lucy made her way into the bathroom and stripped her clothes.
"Damn." Kate breathed out, having made her way into the bathroom after laying Avery down. "Sometimes I forget just how fit you are."
Lucy jumped in surprise. "God, don't sneak up on a person like that."
The blonde doesn't respond, her eyes roaming over Lucy's body.
"Kate?" Lucy asked, raising her eyebrows.
Humming softly, Kate lifted her eyes to meet Lucy's. "What?"
"You're staring." Lucy said, stepping into the shower.
"Can't help it, my girlfriend is hot." Kate mumbled, leaning against the doorframe.
Without a word, Lucy closed the shower door and began to wash herself. When she stepped out, Kate was no longer in the bathroom. She grabbed a towel and wrapped it around herself.
After getting changed and drying then brushing her hair, Lucy made her way into the kitchen, just as Kate placed a plate of food on the counter.
"Thank you." Lucy said, sitting down.
