After releasing her new album, Parfait hit the peak in her career. Fans loved her, even people who hated her music loved her. From interview to interview, she was loved for how open she was: but nobody knew it was just a coverup.
The most commonly asked questions were about her love life, and she just brushed it aside with simple comments alluding to a potential "search." Though, it was always misleading. People just assumed that she was straight, when in reality she had always been lesbian. She never sang about it, never talked about it, it was a part of her personal and quiet life. But it couldn't be kept forever, soon, fans had to know.
And she had always had her eye on someone. Someone from the Hollyberry kingdom, who seemed to be one of her biggest fans. The only reason why she even knew the girl's name was because she signed her shirt once. Raspberry Cookie, one of the best fencers in the nation.
On a simple Saturday, during an interview, the big question came.
"Now, Parfait, as you know you are quite the sensation across the globe at the moment! But, one of the questions I hear most: What truly is your sexuality?" The interviewer asked enthusiastically.
Parfait froze. She had rehearsed it, but she wanted to do it on her own terms. "Well... I know this may come as a shock for most, but since I was 12 I've been out as a Lesbian." The crowd fell silent, and she felt a million eyes, both through the screen and in the studio, fall on her. Then someone started clapping, and others followed. She smiled greatly as the entire studio erupted into cheers and claps. Her fans welcomed her. "Wow I... I appreciate the enthusiasm, you guys!"
The interviewer scoffed dramatically. "I know some of the male viewers are gonna be upset with this. I mean, you're hot and smart. Why women?"
The crowd fell silent again. Parfait looked visibly pissed. "I don't think I need to explain myself to you. And I think this is the end of the interview."
Parfait stood up, waved goodbye, and walked off set. She quickly gathered her belongings from the area where she got ready, and left the studio entirely. To her surprise, there was only one person there: Raspberry.
"Parfait! I-I don't mean to be a bother but I just wanted to tell you that what just happened is SUPER inspirational and I truly loved it!" Raspberry blurted out, walking up to her. "A-And I was wondering if-if we could maybe go out sometime? I'm lesbian too!"
She blushed. "Oh I... S-Sure! That sounds lovely."
"Wait, really?" Raspberry seemed dumbfounded that Parfait had actually said yes.
"Yeah. I remember you from my tour, I signed your shirt. I remember because you looked really pretty back then, and you still do!" Parfait smiled. "M-Maybe we could get coffee right now."
Raspberry smiled. "That sounds nice!"
And so the two headed off to get coffee and snacks together, giggling about the entire way. Once they arrived, they sat in the same booth and talked about their lives. It was mostly boring yada yada, with some interesting points along the way.
"So how did you just gain the courage to ask me out?" Parfait asked, stirring her strawberry lemonade.
"I had one shot to do it, otherwise I couldn't be with you." She replied, taking a bite of a croissant.
"But you don't know me, I could be a real dickhead behind the screens and you'd never know."
"That's a risk I'm willing to take. You only live once, you know?" She smiled.
"I suppose." Parfait sighed and took a sip from her drink. "It is nice to hang out with someone that's been there through it all. You know?"
"Not really but just pretend like I do." She joked, giggling.
"You're funny." Parfait remarked, placing her head on Raspberry's shoulder. "I think this'll work out quite nicely."
