EVER since May rolled around and the weather in Forks had warmed to the late-fifties and sixties, Elexia found herself spending a lot of time at her and Rosalie's beach. Ukulele was a habit that she first picked up while pregnant, but neglected after that. Deciding she needed a hobby, she picked it up again.

Amethyst bought her a bright teal ukulele, which she was currently strumming as she laid against a huge rock on the beach. She wasn't playing any song in particular, just playing whatever chords her fingers chose. Her long blonde hair fell down her shoulders in waves that were becoming a little frizzy. She couldn't wait until the weather would allow her to wear anything besides her oversized t-shirts and leggings, but she knew that wouldn't be for another couple of months.

Summer was her favorite season. She adored the beach, bikinis, shorts, and fruity drinks. The sun and the waves were her best friend. Summer was the season which gave her her beautiful baby girl. This year, she couldn't wait to experience it with Gaia toddling beside her, instead of her as a newborn.

Gaia was born on June seventh, which meant most of the summer was spent in the house to protect her from germs and the sun. They did go out for walks and take some trips to other cities once or twice, but otherwise, it was uneventful. Which Elexia loved, since she got to enjoy her baby, but this year, she wanted a more exciting summer.

It was May seventh now, Gaia's first birthday being exactly a month away. The baby hadn't taken her first steps yet, being too stubborn to give up her crawling – which she was a pro at. Elexia was so thrilled to experience sweet Gaia in the summer. It surely was going to be a sight to see.

As she strummed the strings of her ukulele, Elexia's engagement ring caught a sun ray, making it sparkle in the way that she loved so much. A small smile instantly came to her face upon seeing that familiar beauty on her finger.

Alice and Amethyst had been bugging Elexia and Rosalie since the moment they stepped into the house after getting back from Mount Rainier. They wanted to plan them a huge, extravagant wedding. And while Elexia loved her practical sisters with all of her heart, she was never the type that wanted a big wedding.

She was always a more quiet, calm girl. All she ever wanted at her wedding was her family and best friends. She didn't want a big elaborate dress or fancy makeup. While all of that was utterly beautiful, it wasn't Elexia.

She talked to Rosalie about what she wanted and Rosalie agreed with her that keeping it small was more desirable. She opened up about how her human self wanted a huge wedding, but now that she actually met the true love of her life, a peaceful wedding was more what she yearned for.

Telling that to Alice and Amethyst made Elexia sad, and while they were a little disappointed, they did understand and agreed to shut up – as long as they could help with whatever Elexia and Rosalie did want. Which, of course, was going to happen anyway.

Elexia wasn't sure when she wanted to get married. She hadn't put much thought into it. Rosalie had reassured her that she had plenty of time and that they would wed whenever Elexia was ready. Though the latter worried that she might keep Rose waiting, her fiancée immediately shut her down, saying that Elexia could never upset her in any way at all; that whether they got married in two days or twelve years, she would be happy.

The problem was, Elexia hadn't the faintest idea when would be a good time. And then of course, there was the looming decision of moving out of her dad's house. That would break Austin's heart.

Of course, she would never go far, but still. Her getting her own place would make him sad. Her hand which was playing the ukulele abruptly faltered, causing a painful sound to leave the instrument.
