WHEN Elexia woke up on Sunday morning, the sun was proudly shining bright through her window, a golden color. It was a stark contrast to the rest of the week, which was filled with rain.
"Good morning," Rosalie smiled, handing Elexia her coffee. The sun shone so brightly through the room that Rosalie's face was sparkling lightly. It was an ethereal sight.
"Morning, Rose." Elexia sleepily smiled.
"Are you alright?" Rosalie asked, sitting down on the edge of the bed. "You slept restlessly all night."
Elexia shrugged. "I honestly don't know. I didn't even realize."
Rosalie's golden eyes studied Elexia's face in concern for a moment before she let out a breath. After what happened with her family and Victoria and the wolves the other night, Elexia had been very tense.
Clearing her throat, Elexia asked, "Do you want to do anything today?"
Rosalie chuckled lightly. "I don't know, do you?"
Elexia stretched lazily, enjoying the warmth of the sun on her skin as she considered the question. "Well, we could take Gaia for a walk," she suggested, her eyes brightening at the thought of spending time outdoors with her daughter and Rosalie.
"That sounds lovely," Rosalie agreed with a smile. "It's been a while since we went on a walk, the three of us."
Elexia nodded, feeling a surge of happiness at the mention of her little family. She sipped her coffee, the rich aroma filling the room and adding to the sense of contentment that enveloped them.
As Elexia finished her morning routine and got Gaia ready for the outing, she couldn't shake off the restless feeling that had lingered since the previous night. She pushed it aside, determined to focus on the day ahead with Rosalie and Gaia.
They decided to just walk around in the woods surrounding Elexia's house, not wanting to go too far with everything going on. Elexia smiled as she watched Gaia's eyes light up with excitement at the sight of everything around them.
They found a secluded spot that was near a small pond, shaded by a willow tree whose branches swayed gently in the breeze. Elexia spread out a blanket while Rosalie settled Gaia on the grass, surrounded by her favorite toys.
"Isn't it beautiful here?" Elexia remarked, gazing out at the tranquil scene before them. The sun danced on the water, casting shimmering reflections that added to the area's enchanting atmosphere.
"It's perfect," Rosalie agreed, her eyes soft as she watched Gaia giggle and babble happily.
As they spent the morning in the park, Elexia felt the restlessness gradually fade away, replaced by a sense of peace and contentment. She and Rosalie laughed and played with Gaia, enjoying each other's company and the simple joy of being together as a family.
Elexia felt a profound sense of gratitude for moments like these once their outing came to an end. Despite life's challenges and uncertainties, she knew that as long as they had each other, they could weather any storm that came their way.
With a smile, Elexia leaned over and pressed a gentle kiss to Rosalie's lips, silently thanking the universe for bringing them together and blessing them with a love that only grew stronger with each passing day.
Elexia and Melody drove to school by themselves the next morning, no Alice, who told them she was being dropped off by Jasper. When they pulled into the school parking lot, they saw Edward's car there, meaning he and Bella were back from visiting her mom in Jacksonville.
