IT was pouring rain as Elexia walked from physics to the cafeteria. Just with Elexia's luck, she had to walk outside in order to get from the science building to the lunch room. Alice was at her side, holding her hand. The two of them were dripping wet when they stepped into lunch.

Despite what should have made anyone else angry and frustrated, the two girls were smiling and giggling the entire walk, skipping around in the rain. Elexia's first instinct would have been to get upset, but Alice's joy made her happy, too.

School wasn't as bad as it had been. Work was slowly becoming less and less, since the teachers were just as sick and tired of school as the students were. Alice and Elexia spent all of physics laughing and talking to each other quietly.

The school was vibrant with excited students, talking about prom, college, and graduation. Prom was this weekend, and Elexia wasn't really sure if she was going to go. She wasn't necessarily opposed, but she wasn't jumping for joy, either.

Edward and Bella were sitting with Bella's friend group in the lunch room, like they usually did. Elexia and Alice met Melody at their own table, like they usually did.

"Hey," Melody gloomily greeted. A piece of her hair in the front was clipped back, framing her round face beautifully.

"What's up with you?" Elexia questioned, raising a brow at her best friend's attitude.

"I have an essay to do that I completely forgot about. It's due tomorrow and I'm definitely going to fail." Melody sighed, picking at the food on her tray.

"You do know that you don't have to worry about that anymore, right?" Alice giggled. "Amethyst can deal with that for you."

"Oh." Melody perked up. "Yeah, I keep forgetting."

Elexia chuckled quietly, shaking her head. Melody often forgot the nature of her situation.

Ever since Melody confessed to Elexia what she felt when she met Emmett for the first time– and after accidentally discovering her gift, which was a horrifyingly painful one at that– she'd changed. Not in a bad way, but the way she was acting reminded her of herself, when she met Rosalie. She was very... flustered.

Emmett was overjoyed to have met Mel and wanted nothing more than to get to know her, but Melody was a little overwhelmed with the fact that she had a mate. She didn't expect to find one at all, and especially not so soon. Emmett was keeping his distance, not wanting to make her uncomfortable, but Elexia could also see it was hurting him to be so distant from her. Melody wasn't staying at the Cullen house, like the plan was initially. She was staying at Elexia's.

"I hope the rain stops soon. As much fun as it was before, I don't want to have to go out there again and get even more wet." Elexia complained. She was already growing cold from her wet clothes.

"I can–" Alice began, before cutting herself off by going blank, her eyes far away. Elexia recognized the expression instantly; she was seeing something. Reaching a comforting hand over, she placed it on Alice's shoulder, while Melody looked at her, concerned.

Alice snapped out of it after a few moments, finally focusing back on the scene around her.

"What happened, Al?" Elexia asked, rubbing her shoulder in order to soothe her. She wasn't Jasper, but she sure could try.

"It was Victoria. I saw Victoria. She's coming." Alice whispered.

Elexia felt all of the blood drain from her face.

The rest of Elexia's day was spent with her left unnerved after Alice's vision in the cafeteria. Alice, too, was distant in the rest of the classes they shared together. Melody was beyond scared, seeing as Victoria was loosely related to the reason she was no longer a human being anymore, permanently changed.
