Chapter 17: Mehendi & Sangeet 🩷

In the morning, Aisha bathed and wore her usual dress before going to the temple. It was her final year's result day. She prayed for both herself and Ishani. On her way back home, she bought some fruits.

Upon returning home, Aisha saw Advait sitting with Nikhil, drinking tea and talking to her father. Aisha's mood instantly soured, and without saying a word, she went straight to the kitchen where Ishani was drinking tea.

Aisha thudded the fruits onto the kitchen table.Ishani jumped up with a start and looked towards Aisha. " Kya hua ??? "

(What happened???)

Aisha shake her head.. " Nothing.. aj result ane wala hai na thori pareshaan hu. "

(Today the result is going to come, so I'm a little worried)

Ishani replied with stretching her arms" Kya pareshaani? Tu wese bhi top kregi.. Chill maar. "

(What's there to worry about? You'll top anyway... Just chill)

"Anyways, jeejaji aye hai.. tune dekha? " Ishani asked chuckling softly.

( brother-in-law is here..Did you see him?)

Aisha respond with a casual tone " Accha? Mera dhyan nhi gaya. "

(Oh, really? I didn't noticed! )

Then Ishani told Aisha that Advait has come here to say that he wants the wedding to happen day after tomorrow. He asked to complete all the functions tomorrow because he has a shoot next week in another state.

Aisha felt like the ground had shifted beneath her feet; she couldn't believe that her wedding was just two days away.Just then, Nikhil walked into the kitchen to wash his hands and saw Aisha and Ishani chatting.

Nikhil said, "Hey, what are you two gossiping about?"

Ishani: Tumhe usse mtlb?

Nikhil: Tum naaksaari se kon puch raha hai? Main toh yaha meri hone wali bhabi se baat karne aya hoon.

(Who's asking for your permission? I'm here to talk to my future sister-in-law.)

"So .. " He stepped forward Aisha and stopped in minimal distance. " Mene apko kahi toh dekha hai.. Yaad nahi aa raha. "Nikhil said, trying to recall.

(I've seen you somewhere before... Can't remember where)

" Toh yaad kariye.. "With a smile,
Aisha sat down on a kitchen chair.

(So try to remember. )

"Sharam nahi ate hone wali bhabi se bhi flirt krte hue? " Ishani said, teasing Nikhil.

(Are you not ashamed of flirting with your future sister-in-law?)

"This isn't flirting, babydoll.. " Nikhil said sitting on the kitchen table.

Ishani rolled her eyes.. " Shut up!! "..

Then Aisha received a notification that the results were out, and she exclaimed lightly, catching both of their attention." You two please dont fight.. and Ishani results are out!!! "

First, Aisha looked at Ishani and she came closer. Aisha hugged Ishani, then Aisha saw the result and she topped. Nikhil and Ishani congratulated her, but for a moment, Aisha forgot everything in her joy. She danced with happiness, wearing a big smile on her face. Then she went to her father, but when she saw Advait, she realized the situation she was stuck in.

Then she told her father about the result and took his blessings. Advait also congratulated her, but Aisha replied with just a nod and walked inside her room.
