♡ Intoxicated ♡

Getting up at midnight for a glass of water was supposed to be something that went smoothly with no interruptions, yet here you stood, looking at your front door as if it was going to leap at you and bite your head off.

Like clockwork, another three knocks sounded at the door causing you to slightly jump. Who would be knocking on your door at this ungodly hour?

You walked toward the door with tentative steps, holding a knife that you took the liberty of grabbing from the kitchen drawer. You reached for the handle as another series of knocks started, and with one swift move, you ripped the door open and raised the knife high with a warning yell.

Your scream died down in your throat as you came face to face with Dabi. He was leaning against the doorframe with folded arms and a lazy smirk playing at his lips.

"Good morning to you too," he said in almost a mumble. He pushed himself from the doorframe and brushed past you. "Thanks for inviting me in."

You stood in a stunned silence, knife still halfway in the air with a confused look on your face. As Dabi brushed past you, you could smell the scent of alcohol that seemed to linger around him, making your nose wrinkle. He made his way through your apartment and went to sit on your couch, making himself comfortable and kicking up his feet to rest them on top of the coffee table.

You spun around with a disbelieving scoff, throwing the door closed with more force than was necessary. You walked over to the coffee table, standing in front of Dabi like a disapproving mother would over her rambunctious child. When the man merely peered at you from under half-lidded eyes and shot you another lazy smirk, you scoffed yet again.

"Get your feet off my table," you said, smacking at his boots.

He dropped his feet with a chuckle as you went to sit down next to him on the couch, the same distinct scent of alcohol reaching your nose again.

"Have you been drinking?" you asked, eyeing the man next to you suspiciously.

Dabi hummed, and with another chuckle that seemed more like a guilty giggle, he threw his head back against the backrest of the couch. "Maybe," he mumbled, causing you to shake your head.

There was a beat of silence in which you just watched Dabi, taking in his appearance. He wasn't wearing his normal outfit. Instead of his usual white shirt and leather jacket, he wore a plain black hoodie paired with some black sweats and his Doc Martins. His eyes were closed as he relaxed against the backrest of the couch, comfortable in the environment as if it were his own.

"Why are you here?" you asked with a sigh. The villain only showed up at your apartment when he needed something, but considering the fact that he was likely wasted, there was probably another reason for his visit.

"What, I can't just swing by like an old friend?" Dabi asked, shifting his head to the side to flash you a lopsided smirk.

You just shot him an unamused look, raising your brow. You were too tired for this shit. Dabi was enough to deal with on a normal day, given that he was already a flirty person in general. And now you got a glimpse of drunk Dabi- at 12 am in the morning- and it seemed like alcohol just made him worse. His eyes had never looked that seductive before.

He huffed a breathless laugh and leaned his head back against the couch again. "I was thinkin' about you. Thought I'd drop in to get my head to shut up," Dabi slurred, bringing a hand up to run through his hair, exposing his white roots that were starting to grow out.

You knew about his natural hair color, having had to dye it plenty of times before. The nights in which you did always ended up with a tense silence settling over the two of you. The topic of Dabi's past and true identity was sensitive, and you tended to try and avoid it when possible, if only for the sake of saving your own neck. It didn't matter how curious you were, if he didn't want to talk about it you wouldn't ask.
