In the meeting room, an air of tense anticipation hung as everyone gathered around the conference table, each member clutching folders and digital devices filled with updates and findings. Victor, at the head of the table, called the meeting to order with a determined look.

"As we continue to unravel the patterns behind these killings, I've come across a significant commonality among the victims," Victor began, casting a glance at the assembled team, ensuring he had everyone's attention. He clicked a button, and images of the 11 victims appeared on the screen behind him, each marked by the distinct tattoo visible in the photos.

"If we consider the backgrounds of these 11 individuals who, sadly, lived in challenging circumstances, we find one striking similarity among them," he continued, pointing towards the images where the tattoos were clearly visible. "Each of these victims had the same tattoo, which, according to reports from their loved ones, was acquired in exchange for money."

The room murmured with whispers as team members digested the information. Tom leaned forward, squinting at the images. "Do we know who offered the money for these tattoos? This could be our direct link to the killer or an intermediary used to mark the targets."

Victor nodded, acknowledging Tom's insight. "That's the next step. We need to trace back where this offer came from. These tattoos could very well be a form of marking or claiming by the killer, a sort of signature that links the victims to him or her indirectly."

One of the newer detectives, a young woman with keen analytical skills, raised her hand. "Have we checked with local tattoo parlors? Maybe they've seen someone paying for others to get this specific design. It could lead us to a suspect or at least a witness."

"Yes, that's in motion," Victor replied. "We've dispatched teams to interview every tattoo parlor in the city and even extending to neighboring towns. Additionally, we're examining financial transactions that might reveal payments linked to these tattoos."

The team nodded, each member scribbling notes and typing away on laptops, energized by the new lead. Victor's eyes swept across his team, a sense of pride swelling despite the grim topic. "This is good work, everyone. Let's keep digging and stay alert. Whoever is behind this, they've left us a trail. Now, it's up to us to follow it to the end."

Victor paused, his hand hovering over his notebook as he absorbed Alex's question. He leaned back in his chair, the gears turning in his mind. "That is indeed peculiar," he agreed, his voice tinged with the gravity of the implication.

"It suggests a targeted selection process," Victor continued, tapping his pen against the desk thoughtfully. "Perhaps the tattoos aren't just marks; they could be a criteria for selecting victims based on their economic status or vulnerability."

Alex nodded, his brow furrowed in concern. "It could be that the tattoos are a means to exploit the desperation of the poor, offering them money in exchange for what they might perceive as harmless ink," he speculated. "This tactic not only marks the victims but also ensures they're people who are less likely to be missed immediately or have their disappearances investigated aggressively."

Victor agreed with a nod. "Exactly. It's a form of predatory branding. The killer or whoever is orchestrating this might be using the tattoos to segregate the victims into categories. The poor are marked distinctly from the wealthy, perhaps to serve different purposes in this macabre scheme."

"Could there be a symbolism we're missing? Maybe the design of the tattoo itself has significance, a message or affiliation?" Tom suggested from across the room.

"That's a viable angle," Victor replied. "We need to dive deeper into the design of the tattoo. Let's get forensic symbolism experts to analyze the design. Additionally, cross-referencing it with known gang symbols, cult markings, or any regional symbols might give us further insights."

"Also, let's not overlook the psychological aspect," added Victor, his mind racing ahead. "The differentiation by economic status might be fulfilling a specific psychological need or narrative for the killer. Maybe there's a resentment against a certain class, or perhaps it's a twisted form of social commentary."

"I'll organize a team to start digging into social media and forums that discuss tattoos," Alex volunteered, his laptop already open as he started typing. "There could be online communities where this kind of exchange is discussed or arranged."

"Good," Victor affirmed. "Keep me updated on any leads. This tattoo link could be the breakthrough we need to understand the killer's selection process and possibly predict his next move."

As the team mobilized with renewed urgency, Victor felt a chilling mixture of horror and determination. They were dealing with a cunning adversary, one who manipulated human vulnerabilities with chilling precision. But every clue they unraveled brought them closer to stopping this predator, and Victor was resolute in his commitment to bring justice for the victims.
