Élise arrives and she spots her friend, Marseille who has long light-brown hair, she normally has a ponytail, she's fashionable as she likes to wear nice clothes, she wears glasses, she's a little bit taller than Élise. they hug and kiss their cheeks. They sit and asks for something to drink. Élise asks for a matcha and no cake.
"Are you sure? Are you on a diet?" Marseille says.
"No, of course no" she laughs "I had one before coming here". And it was the best she thought.
Marseille starts talking about the design company she works for, it's a big and famous company. Before graduating both were dreaming about working for that company together, after graduating both applied for it but Élise didn't go to the interview because her mum had just passed away.
"What about you? Do you like 'Experience'?"
The drinks arrive, Élise tries matcha and the bitter flavour now made sense to her, she laughs thinking about Cat.
"Sorry, what?"
"What are you thinking?"
"Sorry, I've to tell you something crazy that's happened". Élise starts since the first encounter and describes everything that has happened, even the incident in the club.
"You should've called me". Marseille looks worried.
"I thought they were more friendly, I mean, they're not my friends but this was..." Marseille takes Élise's hands trying to console her.
"But it wasn't that bad, in the end, she rescued me, she took me to her flat, I slept on her bed, butaloneshewasn'tthere". She realises that could be misunderstood.
She tells her about their breakfast together, about the two notes and that she wanted to return her things, but she told she could keep them. She shows her the bag with the things she gave her, she's also excited to go to the company anniversary.
"How old is your boss?"
"She's 40". Says almost whispering.
"So, your crush is a rich woman in her 40's...are you looking for a sugar mommy?"
"What?! No! No! never!" She hits her friend on her arm.
"Ok, you're not, I understand...She's single I supposed...children? Divorced?"
"I haven't asked her but she doesn't have a picture in her house, no one and I don't think she has children, I don't feel that vibe in her...and..." She gets closer "I read on the internet there are rumours she's a les".
"You googled her?"
"Well yes, I wanted to know more about her".
"I think you're falling in love, and I don't know, it seems unreal, everything".
"I know! I feel the same, it's so unreal...I'm going to be heartbroken right?" She's confirming more than asking.
"I fear that my friend".
Cat arrives at her friend's, as always, she's received by two children who stick to her like bubble gum.
"Cat!" Both shouts. "My babies" she kisses their heads.
"Hi Frances, hi Raoul" she greets them who are in the kitchen preparing maybe dinner while going to the living room to play with the boys.
"Are you staying to dinner?" The boy asks "yes, are you staying to dinner?" The girl always repeats what her brother says.
"I'm staying to dinner" Cat shouts so Raoul can hear her. Cat plays with them for about 15 minutes and that's enough to feel exhausted, she knows she doesn't have the same stamina she had 10 years ago. Raoul notices her red cheeks and her agitated respiration. "You should come more often" he makes fun of her.

The songs of my life
RomanceIt's a love story about a business woman and a worker; the story showed an age gap, however, it's not so dramatic, it's more romantic; each song was chosen for a purpose, so I strongly suggest to listen to the song while you're reading the chapter...
